Whirlpool no replacement filter available. You can add on replacement filter to your order for the Samsung.

Besides, Samsung is on offer right now.

The Whirlpool airflow is only about 200 m3/hr. From the looks of current conditions and actually not yet peaking....it's better to get more horsepower.

Thanks WussRedXLi, today checked out Harvey Norman, Samsung AX41 selling at $399, and Whirlpool selling at $299.

Maybe get the Samsung AX40 from qoo10.sg.

By the way, any idea how's the TAIYO HEPA 25?

NTUC selling at $99 for 1 now.

Something to share.

Do you know that PM1.0 pollution is the most harmful? Particles PM2.5 or smaller can still penetrate deep into our lung tissues and gets absorbed into our bloodstream which can cause many respiratory problems and heart diseases?

LOL... Advertise until here ah. ALL HEPA fillers do PM1.0, and are VERY good at it.

And yes, PM1.0 is more harmful than PM2.5, for the exact same reason that PM2.5 is more harmful than PM10 - that the smaller the particle is the more harmful it gets.

even HEPA E10 can remove up to PM0.3, that's how HEPA filters are tested and classed into E10 to H13.....and so on...

Anyone have any idea on the TAIYO HEPA 25? As the price is good, might want to get it as interim before order and receive the Samsung AX40 from Korea.

If you have a real need for it...then just get. But there are other better units on retail. If you think you have a use for it, get from gumtree or carousell. Dont waste money.

If have good system airflow rates and long hours operation with no opening of windows, even a F7 - F9 filter can give nearly 0 ug/m3 at 0.3 microns. Thats what i measured in an office.

Thanks WussRedXLi, well, maybe bite my time before the Samsung AX40 arrive. Buying because of 3 months old baby.

I see. Its a must. If you can help it, spend a little more and get the Sharp FU-Z31 or Sharp A28 at NTUC Xtra. Much more cleaning power. The Taiyo is anemic. It's cheaper by half but somewhat useless.

For infants, take it that PSI 100 is like their PSI 200.

haha yup but not all people understand that mah, thinking that pm2.5 is good enough. Ultimately is how each purifier kills off the virus/bacterias after being trapped by the filters. And the cost of replacement filter over the years could be more expensive than the purifier itself. :)

Agree but the test was done in within a 15mins duration. :)

7.0 m3/min = 420 m3/hr. Not too shabby with a probably MERV13 grade filter (my guess).

I popped the 3M filtrete ultimate allergen MERV13 into my KC-840, flowed like crazy due to lower Pa. Not sure how clean is the airflow though (blueair, they measured in lab 8ug/m3 at output but not sure what is input concentration), but shd be good CADR.

Useful life probably about 2 months but that's a 1 inch filter depth that i tried with wider pleats than the typical HEPA (can goggle for pix)....but seriously i never measured after 2013 haze. But its well known that electrostatic filters PM trapping curve goes down fast while HEPA maintains...till the PM holding limit spec is reached (slight drop in flowrate

65W, 48dB.

Not too shabby seriously with 5 extra filters (i will assume each filter 6 months and not 2 years). For those who wants to buy as a package in such a budget range and forget about aftersales needs.

Next time just taobao HEPA in bulk ba.

Sorry...see wrongly. Taiyo HEPA 25 for 99 bux is passable since you have a critical need. 150m3/hr, 43W. Ok.

Filters need to customise next time from taobao

Does Samsung Singapore sells the HEPA + deodorizing filter for the AX40? Anyone knows the price? Or is it cheaper to get it from qoo10.sg ?
