Air purifier?

I bought one of these 1 or 2 years ago.

Anyone knows how to clean or change the filter?

Are there any air purifiers that come with washable i.e. reusable filters?

My Philips vaccuum cleaner only uses 1 HEPA filter and its the washable type which they said to rinse thoroughly every 3 months and to replace every 2 years.

I think its cheaper in the long run if the air purifier doesn't use disposable filters.

Some of the LG models have washable HEPA filters, still need to replace every 3 -5yrs though.

i think the cost of 3 disposable (change every 8mths) is cheaper than 2 washable?

but im not sure about washable filters. u'll be compressing the fibre in the hepa filter somehow and makes it ineffective.

According to the salesperson, we're not supposed to scrub the filter. Just rinse in warm water to get the dirt out that's all.

Rinsing wont really get the stuff out. HEPA does not work that way. If it can dislodge, that means during operation it can dislodge as well.

I have 4 of these LGs with washable filters in total.

It may dislodge so of the surface stuff, thats all.

I would really suggest the folks just google how HEPA works.

hepa filters are like that.
not easy to just rinse off the dirt/dust/particles.
and its trapped in the fiber...

its not like washing pre-filter of your aircon.

i bought Sharp Z31E few days ago from Courts at $229

and bought a xiaomi air purifer from Qoo10 (waiting delivery) at $260+

My wife likes the smell of "fresh air" (actually is ozone i think)
So we will be using the Sharp everyday no matter got haze or not..
