KCA40E is pre-filter cover> carbon filter> HEPA filter
so when u say spec to 45mm, we have to take out the carbon filter?

I don't really understand how does customizing a thicker HEPA filter do to airflow or what are the benefits of doing that. Care to explain more? Thanks!

For those with KCA40E model and looking for replacement filters urgently, I called Sharp this morning and they have about 10 pieces of HEPA filters left at the Alexandra service centre

1. Yes. Cannot use AC filter liao.

2. Thicker HEPA, bigger surface area as deeper pleats. Less airflow resistance. Higher airflow volume of air.

Model: AX70J7000WTD (78 ㎡)
Power consumption: 70W
Power: Single-phase, 220V, 60Hz
Maximum noise: 52 dB
Product dimensions (W x H x D): 360 x 1054 x 284 mm
Weight: 15 kg
Display Type: LED
Colors: AIRY WHITE
Button Operation Mode: Soft Touch

Both selling at the same price at Qoo10, but ax70 covers a larger area but consume more electricity and noisier...

Thx for searching the info....too lazy to repost in details. :D

I think one is 660 or 690m3/hr. The other is 778m3/hr.
But the 60 and 78 sqm coverage dont seem to reflect that....hence some discrepancy there.

And note, AX40 is 323m3/h but 41 sqm. No direct coorelation one.

This is despite them having a KACA body. (Like AHAM)

I also ordered (2 days ago) AX40 from Daiso. Hope to receive it soon! I read that the power cord is US type? so we need to use a converter?

Just use fingers to bend it closer together.

Remove that time, wrigger it out from side to side carefully.

Converter would be nice, but not a necessity for it to work.

is the true laser particle counter module useful? worth to get baomi?

Baomi is quite ok. Design is good. If you have a need to know the spot ug/m3 value, its good. Do not expect it to be accurate vs NEA values, but as always mentioned the levels rise and fall between both on a relative sense, so you can do a direct mapping, relatively speaking.

Just to clarify, original AX40 HEPA is 37mm (IIRC), TaoBao is 45mm so air flow is less due to higher resistance. That's bad isn't it? why not customize TB filter to same thickness at 37mm?

I've an older AX37. Would you know what size filter I should ask the TB seller to customize to?

Thanks!

AX40 original Samsung HEPA is 40mm. Slice it open and its 40mm.

I have no experience with AX037.

Not sure what/how is the logic behind your " thinner depth HEPA is good." 310x280x40mm vs 310x280x45mm, the 45mm filter has more media/more surface area when the pleats are all opened up, flows more.

Customise to 45mm, that is my recommendation.
Can do 60mm too if you want, but prefilter need to DIY as original cant fit.

1pc is rmb 135. 4pcs is rmb110.

If too much trouble, suggest just get the originals.

Personal choice ba.

I think I misunderstood. Had the impression that thinner = better airflow and thicker = more resistance therefore thinner = better. So that reasoning is wrong? :s11:

Yep, not correct.

Thicker depth dimension for HEPA filter, the more surface area the filter it has. Bugger surface area, lower resistance, higher airflow rate. Better airflow, better performance.

Finally my AX40 is here! Really got difference in the air quality at my living room...

Btw, how come the lights will change? It's red color now. Just now I put at another location and is orange then change to green..

And how do I activate the virus doctor?
