I also ordered (2 days ago) AX40 from Daiso. Hope to receive it soon! I read that the power cord is US type? so we need to use a converter?

english manual doesn't have Virus docter, but I believe its just pressing the 3rd button from the left once to turn on/off. If you hold it for 3 seconds that activates the Filter reset button.

Anyone read the korean manual? On the front it says that if you use it outside of S Korea there is no guarantee of quality assurance :s13:

Reposting for info.

Just for reference, and if anybody else wondering when getting your spanking new AX40 and found that everything in the documentation is in Korean.

Buttons from left to right:
First four is touch buttons: On/off; Speed selection; VirusDoctor On/off (single touch) + filter change reset (hold a few secs); Child lock (hold a few secs)
Last four is speed indicator: Auto; High; Low; Sleep

Lights on the On/off touch button also functions as air quality indicator: blue, green, yellow, red (something like that)

VirusDoctor is Samsung's fancy name for ionizer function, default is OFF.

Just full blast all the way, can't hear a single thing :s22:

The guy like not very interested to set up a special TB page for Samsung AX40 310 x 280 x 45mm (I spec it to 280 instead of 282, just to be safe, so that you all can squeeze in your own plastic/tissue to prevent bypass).

Then ur current tb stock is 280 or 281 or 282?

Samsung AX40 = 31 x 28 x 4 = 3472 cm3
323m3/hr

Sharp KC840 and A40 (and probably D40) = 36 x 23.5 x 3.1 = 2622 cm3
~ 210 m3/hr

LG LA-Q379SB and PS-R459 = 34 x 36 x 3 = 3672 cm3
312 m3/hr

Midea KJ30FE-NV = 45 x 29 x 3 = 3915 cm3
~ 350 m3/hr

Novita NAP501 = 24 x 30 x 1.9 = 1368 cm3

Sharp A28 = 28 x 30.5 x 2.5 = 2135 cm3
168 m3/hr

FU-Z31/FU-Y30/KC-930 = 38 x 24.5 x 3 = 2793 cm3
180 m3/hr

Those who bought Akira APs, are the replacement filters expensive and are they easy to find?

For AX40, what's the recommended max depth to customise without modifying or affecting the original prefilter fitting?
310 x 280 x __

45mm

So this is going to be a lose fit?

280mm is an ok fit. It is recommended to stuff up the small gap with the plastic packaging (cut and roll etc) to prevent bypass.

Too tight a fit is not recommended. ie 282mm.

For the other dimension, 310mm is ok.

So technically, a

310 x 281 x 400

Would have a good high airflow with minimal bypass?
