Just think long term.

If one can tahan the specs of Honeywell, they are workhorses.

If one can tahan the noise/power consumption of Austin and replacement filter cost, they are workhorses. (no real mention of this brand in this thread). Their AC and Aluminum oxide + KMnO4 mix is crazy, some 5kg for the bigger Healthmate series?

IQAir is up there but too expensive. Similar for other usual suspects.

Sharp brand is going downhill, but the APs are workhorses. There are 10 years old AP still working.

Samsung/LG are new to the block, I hate their aircon and refrigeration products. But APs are great. For regular folks like me who want to have 2-3 rooms regular day usage + provide filtration at parents place coz they are also the caregiver during daytime, then a price:performance ratio over the long term is crucial. Throw in Super El nino 2015 haze season, where you might wanna filter 2 x whole HDBs, it becomes crucial, including filter replacement costs.

If one room, then the decision is usually much easier.

i remember austin was mentioned in '13 or '14

the weight of iqair puts me off. and after i see the video of how they remove the filters in the iqair i don't really wan it anymore. it looks bulk and very hard to remove :s13:
but damn the filters inside looks really good, of cos there's a price to pay. one replacement is the price of 1-2AP
they should each last around 2yrs iirc

i need multiple AP for my house, so 1 monster like iqair(heavy to move around) or coway is not to my liking..

You can't "see" which grade unless they tell you.

Either email manufacturer or try your Google-fu.

Yes, calculate the ACH most zhun, don't bother with the "recommended room size"

Manufacturer website or from manual that comes in the box. Or based on other people testing.

Thanks so much bro chuanz for answering. Guess I've alot of reading and google-fu to do to catch up knowledge on this area

Thanks for sharing knowledge for laymen like me to learn from too

Was considering between the Xiaomi and Samsung Ax40, decided to go with the latter (ie. lower operating noise, ion generator, filter availability)

Look folks.....I have posted like hundreds of posts in all the threads. It is impossible for me to provide evidence to prove things over again and again and again.

When I share data and recommend products, there is a real reason(s) behind it.

Thank you.

it's getting hard to keep up hahaha =(

I'm thinking of getting a 3m 7501 half face respirator or full face respirator like ff-400....air+masks L sized and Active ventilators all out of stock......

3M mask comfy, reusable and P100....seems more bang for buck. :(
