I just tried it at Apple Orchard. Amazingly good seriously. Nothing an audiophile could find fault and complain about.

Except the folding part, I wish they could be like the Beats headphone whereby it’s folded inwards towards the headband. Rather than turning the cups sideways. And that 2 aluminium cups bumping into each other making that knocking sound, before you could put into the sleeves.

The sound quality is stupidly good, surpassing the Sony XM4 and Bose 700. Build quality is phenomenal. The AirPods Max might seems heavy but you actually don’t really feel the weight and pressure when you are wearing it due to the design of the band.

I guess the reason Apple did not make a foldable hinge is due to the rotational hinge which they do not want to reduce the integrity of the frame.

This AirPods Max, I fell in love with it straightaway.

Output volume isn’t as loud as my uiem, I did have to turn it to about 75% vol to hear the details that I wanna hear, but it’s okay. As AirPods Pro is about that volume for my tuning too.

The controls is another thing to rave about. I very much prefer physical button to be able to press for switching of ANC-Transparency. And the knob for vol ctrl as well as very intuitive single, double, triple touch for pause, next, prev song respectively.

I know we shouldn’t be comparing it to APP, but I feel APP is still not that stable in hardware. The Haptic Touch controls I don’t quite like. And the usual static noise problem that many users face worldwide.

Tactile controls will always win over touch. That said, Apple clearly went with form over function here. The placement of the crown is super awkward, Apple tried to tuck it away in a place that wouldn’t distract from the aesthetics of the outer earcups and it ends up being unnecessarily difficult to access. Putting the crown on the side of an earcup would have been ideal, instead it’s perched on top, hidden behind the arm, perpendicular to the user’s head.

No, bro really. It’s really very good. Although I’ve not audit Sennheiser HD650s before, as my time spent at audio shops are all auditing UIEMs. I am never a fan of headphones coz of their chunkiness. But like what adiboy said, the weight of this APM is unfelt. This is actually the 1st headphone that I’m attracted to. The black color one.

I’m comparing it to my own music rig. After playing and owning many ciems/uiems over the years, I dare to say that this AirPods Max is almost as good as my current 64 Audio u18t. Except u18t is clearer on the vocals mids.

Actually, it’s a blessing that Apple priced it at S$849. I humbly feel that it’s a tad underpriced, for such a high fidelity music headphone. It’s really a homerun win for Apple for the creation of this headphone.

Wait for stocks to stock up at Apple Stores, this APM can buy, really.

Why Carousell already have flippers marketing it at +S$200 over RRP. Singaporeans really, lol. 自己人欺负自己人。If they don’t want it, then don’t buy it lar. Let those who truly appreciate music to have a chance to buy it. Reminds me of the time when AirPods Pro just came out. Also have flippers.

Wha u comparing it to u18? Sure not? I got my airpods max sitting still yet to try. Coming from legend x probably I will find the bass slower and thinner.

But I guess if it’s as good as u18 as you said maybe I no need being my dap and ciems to work liao
