Guan22 have you tried the golden AK100? Would love to know how you think of it against the DX100.

Heads up AK120 owners. There is a new firmware for the AK120. Version 1.3 I understand that with this firmware, users are able to play back DSD *.dff files from SACD. Have not tried that yet.

As for the sound.. I have installed it.. it sounds more exciting than the politeness of 1.21.. Have a look at iriver.com for download

Good luck and have fun

Lol, now goggling for sacd formatted music. Hopefully can find some to test. Apparently, if u do a search, u can rip sacd from ps3. The ripped file can be played on ak120 in its native format *.dff, dsd file format... No conversion needed

Yah.. I read that Sony took out the support for SACD in PS3 later models and the files are quite large as they are not compressed the way FLAC files are (I stand corrected here).

I do not think that other portable music players support dff files

PS: I find listening to mp3 on ver1.3 firmware is more enjoyable now.. On ver. 1.2 I can only listen to FLAC

sacd dsd is never mainstream what...

Not much Chinese, Cantonese, Kpop. Most are Jazz and Classical even it's not mainstream..........................:o

But anyway, I think the v1.3 firmware playing normal MP3 is really a great improvement as compared to the previous versions......................:s12:

Think Iriver had did it right this time.........................:)
