I do not hear any significant change in sound.

Feel the sound is more refine....................

I can feel more detail than before when I am using V1.33.

After fiddling around with 32bit files and the laggy UI for DSD, I went back to my normal 16/24 bit tracks. I do feel a more refined sound from this update.

Sadly they did not do anything about easier playlist support.

hi am thinking of whether to get a ak120. so need some audiophiles expert to help me out. if use ak120 as mp3 player, does it mean it won't be necessary for me to use an amp for me to listen to the music in uber quality?

have you tried lossless files?

have you own any player before?

what is your expectation of uber quality?

the best way is to get poisoned .... go to shops like E1 to try out, bring your microsd with songs... get poisoned yourself

Best is go to Jaben and try yourself because sound is very subjective and we listened differently from each other.

An amp is only needed if u need to drive a high impedance earphone.

The AK120 is a very refined high resolution music player with plenty of music format options. And sure, it does mp3 and does it well all by itself.

Here's an analogy i hope will give an idea.

The AK120 is like the blu ray player that plays both DVD (mp3) and Blu-Ray (lossless) discs. DVD quality is decent, but with Blu-Ray, you get to see all the extra little details missed out in DVD.

Then when you add a home theater system (amp), the added power, volume and body in sound effect, making the viewing even more enjoyable.

All the above experience would depend if you've a full HD 1080p tv (high quality earpiece or headphone).

doubt so, as there isn't any setting to customization of the button.
after library scan, all ur other 24bit, DSD or high res files will also appear in MOS.

Updated firmware to 1.37, music presentation feels slightly more airy (not as airy as DX100) and less bodied, background feels not as dark as 1.32, as bass notes seems to be hitting less hard, though there's definitely sligthly more energy in the treble region. Overall, definitely worth a try, matches well with UM Miracle

As mentioned, listened with my UM Miracle and PRO EQ turned on, as I have PRO EQ on through my listening on 1.32 as well.
