There are different types of fire extinguishers. One is powder. But best to get bomb type. When there is fire just throw to the fire. Good for old folks who do not know how to use fire extinguisher

That's why i always tell my parents when need to boil or steam food must remain in the kitchen and watch the stove. Dun go elsewhere just to "make use of time do something else". Sure will forget one. Sometimes they dun listen

Can still cause a fire if pot or pan or kettle is left unattended on an electric stove. Need to have one that has auto switch off , by timer or by other means
