AMD Dooms Nvidia in benchmarks

Nvidia/AMD comparisons are like Starfug and Stinktel comparisons. Which is better? It really doesn't matter so long as your game remains smooth and playable. For every game that AMD benchmarks beat Nvidia, there will be another game where Nvidia beats AMD. And really does that 5 FPS or so mean so much?

Ask more instead about practical stuff like heating issues. Because as an AMD user, you have to seriously consider the heating element if you wish to OC and game for extended periods of time and not the 1-2 hours it takes for these benchmark tests.

It depends, if its like 85 vs 90fps, the 5 fps means nothing. But if its 35 vs 40fps, it means alot.

If you have been following AoS, you will realise why async shader and DX12 is such a big deal.

Small FPS difference can differ a lot in terms of high res gaming, especially on 4k.

Imagine your GPU is just breaking at 30fps. Any lower is gonna be just vomiting feel.

If it pushes a little here and there to 35fps or even 40fps, then yes it matters a lot.

As for user experience, i have good experiences using AMD cards over Nvidia cards. The only thing i like about Nvidia cards is that they tend to push drivers update faster than AMD. But i used to have countless crashing on most of my applications that i run on Nvidia back then on the GTX660 vs on AMD. So where does this leads to?

But of cause if one were to ask me which is better, i would still give a neutral support on either teams. They run just fine.

I know AMD cards do have a history of hotter cards. But nevertheless so does Nvidia GPUs. Do you all think that the Titan X/980ti ref does run cooler? I doubt so at 84deg is cool.

And as for current gens, AMD did really well in keeping their Fiji based GPUS really cool. Example the R9 Nano running on a tiniest heatsink with just 1 fan. Not even Nvidia has that in market for that kind of performance and also able to be kept cool. Not forgetting the R9 Nano is a full Fiji based, just cut down on TDP of 175w.

IMHO, Nano is one of the best card releaesed by AMD. Its even faster than Fury and runs cooler. Its so small as well. Only issue is that stupid coil whine.

But it may be able to solve. Pple at OCN told me I can just put a drop of super glue on the coil to dampen it. Hmm.... feel like buying another Nano to try (sold my 1st Nano because of the whine).

Lol I only buy when graphics card spoil. Also I don't understand the benchmark wars that have been going on for so long. Nvidia is probably going to optimize their drivers for this anyway.

Oh and Rise of the Tomb Raider DX11 vs DX12 argument? Moot. Already completed it and was really great.

Just plug and play. Don't plug and run benchmarks. Boring.
