those of us who game at 1440p and lower may see better FPS from upgrading processor vs upgrading GPU :s13:

going with AM4 platform really pays off

20% watt efficiency is comparing to i9-10900k. not zen2

Was comparing 2.4X compared to 2.0X. 0.4 over 2.0 x100% = 20%.
Correct me if wrong. The guy mentioned 24% improvement over previous generation. So I took the slide 20% instead. Lol.

So expensive 299usd

Wait for benchmarks and see if worth it?
Their Radeon 6000 series against RTX 3080. Gonna be tough. Engineers still fine-tuning at this timing? Guess a late November launch liao. Along with Black Friday. Hope don't crash like Nvidia.

5600x more expensive than 10600k. amd is not kind with pricing once they have the lead.
it seems like amd's gpu is true to rumours, between 3070 and 3080 performance. the question left is whether the gpu they showed is their actual flagship.

Price 50USD higher than last gen. Hope price can drop in SG or buy from US directly.

Or just wait for gen 4, change both mobo and cpu

Seems that late November and early December is the best time to build.

Interested to see the benchmark and price difference between 3700X and 5600X.

Nvidia delayed 3070 release to counter those petty creative last minute/post press chage in marketing/pricing tactics that AMD used in the past few years.
Sho now AMD doubled the counter to counter Nvidia's delay.:s13:

Given the style of how AMD operates, if it actually beat Nvidia, then chiu all can expect a Intel^2 type of arrogance in pricing and release for the next few years in both CPU and GPU lol.:o

Based on this data, which is the best bang for buck cpu to get? Am planning to get a new pc few months later either in Dec or next year Jan where stocks is readily available.

Weirdly, it's Intel this time round. I was hoping to get the 5700x to replace my 3600. Looks like I'll use it longer

not sure how it suddenly became intel? 3600/x and 3700x still exist(hopefully). and if amd numbers are to be believed, 5600x has better single thread than 10600k and -~5-10% multithread from 3700x.

3700X and 3800X are the most stupid cpu config ard. 100mhz diff. Glad that AMD just stick to one 5800X this time round.

He says bang for buck if we're comparing 10kseries vs zen 3.

5800x - usd$450 (8c/16t) vs 10850k usd$480 (10c/20t) or 10700 usd$320 (8c/16t)

5600x - usd$300 (6c/12t) vs 10700 usd$320 (8c/16t) or 10600k usd$280 (6c/12t)

Pay 20$ more for 2 more cores and 4 threads. 4.6ghz vs 4.8ghz. no brainer what to pick. I'm pretty sure if you pick the 10600k, you can even overclock it to match or supercede the 5600x performance.

3000 series was the last great value series. AMD is now pushing prices up and rightly so due to becoming market leaders but it sucks for us

Unless amd drop price for their previous gen...20%? 20% as their ipc has 20% improvement lol....then I will go for the previous gen. If not I will stick to intel.

If you already own a Ryen 2, can skip.... new user can jump straight to Zen3, or wait till neck long long for Zen2 price drop.
