2weeks back I went SLS. Yes quite afew shops have 3300x but don hav B450 tomohawk.. So end up didnt buy
All tell me Corbell no hav stock for that board. Mayb I sld look at B550

Consider B550. It has PCIE 4.0 and basically a leaner version of the X570.
100% support for 5000 series when you want to upgrade as well. Worth considering...

5800x - usd$450 (8c/16t) vs 10850k usd$480 (10c/20t) or 10700 usd$320 (8c/16t)

5600x - usd$300 (6c/12t) vs 10700 usd$320 (8c/16t) or 10600k usd$280 (6c/12t)

Pay 20$ more for 2 more cores and 4 threads. 4.6ghz vs 4.8ghz. no brainer what to pick. I'm pretty sure if you pick the 10600k, you can even overclock it to match or supercede the 5600x performance.

3000 series was the last great value series. AMD is now pushing prices up and rightly so due to becoming market leaders but it sucks for us

Yes I am thinking the same as you.. so for this amd series release can I say that unless u are aiming for the 5800x or 5900x , the rest of the cpu seems not that value for money and comparing to Intel wise is like more expensive?

No... Cpu is always upgrade after 2-3 gen...

Personally, I probably get the 5700X to replace my i5 3570k that died last year. It was a NAS/game server.

Why not the 5900x? Coz I found my sweet spot, my use case rarely peaks past 8-10 threads. 16threads is more than sufficient.
Currently personal rig is i7 6900k, but I lost silicon lottery...4.2ghz is stable oc. But the heat and power draw is not comfortable.

I'm more worried about the flippers

But I think AMD means to have it toe to toe with 10600K. They are still selling 3600 which is the best deal, but they claim to beat 10600K so they price it to match

It's weird but they don't intend to just replace the 3600X with this anytime soon.

if u are comparing "GHZS" between architectures and even companies, i have nothing to say to u. the 5600x with 20% ipc improvement will perform almost as good as a 3700x while having much better single core performance.

my opinion is amd still wins on value, because going 10600k means u must get a z490 for oc and ram suport, must get a good cooler (200w+ cpu).

a b450/b550 already has good enough vrms for a 3600x + slight oc, cpu coms with a stock cooler (probably spire? not great but its better than not having one.

add all together and u save 200$+ on the amd platform.

Might be worth it to save more to get the top of the line 5950x as this is the last generation to support AM4.

Really depends on how long one wants to keep it. If you are one who wants to buy and forgot about the CPU industry for 3-4 years, then better to get 5950x.
