That is quite true.. Somehow their supporters are mainly the more well off or eldery.. Those trapped and suffering type normally not so pro them.

To be fair, we ought to treat children today in much the same way our own parents treated us when we were young.

Or at the very least, in the way any decent parent should treat a child, even if one did not grow up in a particularly typical household.

Actually have but they dont work at lowly paid fast food. They go for higher earning one. Or those food shop/kiosk inside mall with aircon or bbt shop.

Diff era alr. Last time not much choice for part time job. So all squeeze into fast food, banquet etc. I rmb when i work in mcd my hourly rate is like 3.50/hr only lol.

Even my son teared up and cried when I told him that when he is in secondary school I expect him to work part to earn pocket money. All kids having such good life now ah?

It is because it dont benefit the students in long run. They can do internship or part time in industry that could benefit their career in future.

My children never work during their secondary school time, they have to go China to visit relatives during their mid-year or year-end school holidays, depend on whether my wife want to go back in Summer or Winter. If they not going China then I let them stay home enjoy their free time or go hang out with friends.

But once they reached JC or Poly, I told them they have to go work (part time) to pay for some of their own spending.
