In a way, this is a situation in which you had chosen to inflict upon yourself and its not a direct design flaw from makers. So, it would be unfair to blame makers for the decision you had made.

Then you should really put some serious thought into buying a tower server from Dell, HP or Lenovo since it's a major point of contention. Forget about your existing hardware.

Only tower server chassis will have front-loading HDD bays that are directly wired to the motherboard for hot swapping.

On the plus side, it comes with Xeon processors and ECC memory that are superior to consumer trash.

Most people usually have 1 or 2 hdd. Not like every week need to swap out the hdd. Set once and forget.

I have spare HD so having easy front access I am more incline to use it.

Don't recall corsair having a mid sized version of the 800D that has hot swappable bays. You'll have better luck looking for those optical drive to 3.5 hdd bay slots. For the record, I'm still using an old full tower Antec df-85 from 2010, back then they also offer a mid tower version(iirc) that had hot swappable front bays.

Aesthetics wise, it has an industrial look that might be considered unpleasant looking for some, but it has all the bells and whistles that i need that made me reluctant to replace the casing.

I am still using the 8 years old Antec 182.
Reluctant too change as well. I spent time modding it & even christian it BLACK OPS II 2.0
Anyway for HD access I removed one of the front fan for front access for 3 HD. Also Installed two HD caddy at the 5.25" DB. That was pretty neat. Although the caddy doesn’t come with fan, but it’s super silent.

Not entirely.
I do have some basic but very reasonable requirements. But looking at most major brands casing and where they place their HD just pisses me off. Practically all the same.

I disagree.Not entirely But in general, yes i bought them. But moi did not design the table nor the casing.

Well,it was just a fleeting though.
Anyway my P182 is really old already, door is almost damage, front access door for the fan filter doesn't work (i think its stuck), one of the fan door also missing. Its time for an upgrade.
I love the P182 for its noise dampening feature internal layout is unique & cool. Also love the composite side panel. Truly a unique casing.

Thanks omelet. It was just what i needed. Comes in black. It looks absolutely gorgeous. None of them tempered glass panel or flashing display lights. Would prefer a black interior but i may just sent for powdercoating. Perhaps saw out the fan grills, cut out holes to improve HD airflow.....Need to see if I have the time to mod it. Hope to see BlackOps III for this setup. But likely no forms this time.

Received the case more then a month ago.
Dismantled it & today just sent for powder coating. Was told that he hasn't done casing for a few years already.

Nope. High end cases are aluminum these days. Anonisation is more common
