Are ink tanks printers and cartridge printers using the same print head, just that the ink storage is different ?

Does it mean that if I get Ink Tanks printers like Canon G7070, the photo quality will be different or worse ?

The infamous clogged nozzles issue. I experienced that 20 years back, and again a few years back. No improvement at all.

Are Epson and Canon printhead different in handling the clogs ? I read that Canon printhead heat the ink and is better in this aspect. And that Epson tends to use more ink to clean the printhead and do it more often. Don't know if that's true.

I think Epson warranty the printhead is a good thing but Canon printhead is consumer replacable which is also good, but not sure how much it cost.

IMHO.
If want the ink printer to last longer, just every week print something.
I have an old Epson L350 with flatbed scanner - just put a color brochure and press "copy".

Other considerations would be how the paper feeding mechanism.
I was reading the the L6170 uses cassette/cartridge feed whereas the G7070 uses front cassette/cartridge and also have rear feeding.
If other stocks other than A4, I prefer rear feeding especially if the paper are heavy.
That is the reason why I moved away from HP a long time back - the paper have to make U turn.

Yes, but....
Plain paper should not be much of an issue.
For photo paper, usually in the printer driver you can choose paper profile for best output.
Of course, other brand photo paper may "behave" similar to the original brand paper or they have profile for their own paper for the printer driver.

My experience many years ago, IIRC, a digital camera image printed on a Canon printer closely matches that from the photo finishing lab. That's the benefit of using originals - fuss free.

Technology could have improve since then, but I seldom into serious printing so cannot comment.

If we talk about label printers, I prefer ColorWorks CW-C6500P color inkjet label printer. Just FYI. My understanding is that, for printhead, Epson gives 2 years warranty and is on-site. Canon only 1 year carry-in.

But Canon is consumer product and you can buy it and install yourself (like when you first buy the printer) while Epson changing of printhead is service.

So also a matter of luck whether your printhead spoil during warranty or after !

If availability of 3rd party cartridges is epson. But a cheap epson n go buy their refillable cartridge and bottles of ink. Cartridge n ink like 20 30dollar

Errm... actually not quite. Brother can print perfectly after idling for 2 months. I've used both Epsons and Brothers.
