the firmware how go upgrade ah? they will update for me? not too saavy on all these :(

Sent from Google PIXEL 2 XL using GAGT

u need to login to the individual airties ip address, just type the individual ip address into your browser while connected to wifi to update individually.

u can find the individual ip using the app under my network.

should be the last option under the advance setup to update the firmware.

Singtel Airtiles

Is it possible to use 2x 4920 with 2x 4930 sets working mesh.
I have 2x 4920 and if recontract now will get 2x 4930, can they be used at the same time. Please advise anyone tried.

Does the Askey work with any router? I’m thinking of upgrading my router to AX.

Hi fugiwara,

Here's our network team's suggestion:

1. Make sure the first and third Askey nodes are near each other.

2. Press and hold the WPS button on the first node for 1-2 seconds

3. Simultaneously press the WPS button on the third node for about 4 secs.

Do let us know if that works for you?

Thanks.

Hi tch7759,

Our network team confirmed that what you enquired about is not possible as 2 different SSIDs are needed.

Hope this clarifies, thanks.

Hello Singtel can you answer my question before I subscribe to your 1gb with Askey mesh plan? I want to know if it works with my existing router.

Hi tremor,

We are unable to advise because the setup that you are proposing is not recommended or supported by our fibre team.

While we would love to be of service to you, however, we may not be able to provide technical support or assistance if the router is not Singtel issued or recommended, should you decide to proceed.

Thanks for understanding.

Dear Singtel,

Your answer is unacceptable. I am signing up your isp plan and mesh devices are provided by you. How can you not know if your mesh works with what router?

If a smaller isp can support multiple router hardware, I don’t understand how a listed company can be worse off?

Please ask your technical team to wake up their idea and just answer a simple question.

Dear Singtel,

Any updates why you are worse off than smaller isp when answering technical questions on hardware that you provide with your plan?

Singtel has never offered support to any router other than its officially issued models to customers leh, and this has been a known fact all these years.

The moment you change out the issued router for use with your mesh, you immediately lose software support already. Singtel mesh does not connect to update server like how it does with a residential gateway.

Also, changing to a wifi 6 enabled router for use with mesh is a downgrade, because your wifi router ideally should get its wifi disabled unless you're telling us your router and mesh nodes are far apart.

Thanks. Mean Singtel router’s WiFi is turned off due to the mesh? Thus the WiFi signal only broadcast by the 2 mesh devices?

Then it’s very different to let say aimesh by ASUS.

Singtel can't be testing every single router out there in the market and thus unable to officially claim they support.

From my own experience using Singtel Mesh, one main unit has to be connected directly to the ONR, so really no point using own router unless you do not want ONR and want to use own router with ONT.
Any router should work if it's just for internet. But if you require Singtel TV, you'll either have to use singtel's own router, then connect your router to it, OR use routers with VLAN presets (e.g. Asus).

As for Mesh on top of all that...It may require some expertise on configuration, due to VLAN tagging, esp if you are also going for Singtel TV. Router used definitely need to support VLAN tagging. Asus' presets may or may not work (for Mesh); manual config (if router supports) not simple.
