In your case, actually you do not need to use the Askey at all as your SingTel STB boxes are directly connected to the ONR. For example you can sell the Askey units and replace them with cheaper Deco M5 or Huawei AX3.

Still you may want to double check if your connection between Askey01 to Askey02 is good. Supposedly you are using Ethernet backhaul but it might be still using wireless backhaul. What is the speedtest results from your PC?

Ran a few time before... All around 900+ Mbps both down and up

Your speedtest PC is wired to the 2nd Askey, which is wired to the 1st Askey, which is wired to the ONR when u get 900+ Mbps, rite?

Nice updates.
https://netgearstore.sg/blogs/news/orbi-singtel-tv-vlan-tag

It seems to all the Netgear Orbit mesh solutions support SingTel TV, including ONT case and ONR case.

For ONT users, VLAN needs to be set up. From the diagram, only one SingTel TV box is supported through the Orbi router.

For ONR users, Orbi needs to be in AP mode to avoid Double NAT and to work with SingTel TV. Good thing is that it supports one or more SingTel TV boxes through both Orbi Router and Satellite. And SingTel TV box can also be connected to the ONR.

Hi Guys, Wondering if the Orbi satellite device was connected directly to Singtel ONR via cable, will it work independently without powering on the Orbi Router Device? thanks in advance

In that case, your 900+Mbps speed is wired speed. Nothing to do with the Askey wireless performance.

To test the Askey wireless performance, run the speed test app on a mobile phone connected via WLAN to the Askey.

His issue is with wired connection (PC) causing Askey wireless to go off.

I was suspecting the Ethernet backhaul was not working and it became wireless backhaul, but then the speedtest shows Ethernet backhaul is actually working. So I am not sure what is the problem now. It might be related to the ONR as well.

i have this weird problem with my singtel home broadband and askey mesh pair..
each time i switch on or off my PC (sharing ethernet with askey backhaul), the 5GHz LED on my mesh will turn red.

my PC internet connection will randomly drop off all of a sudden, where i cannot reach any website... i can either wait for it to recover in a couple of minutes or manually cycle (disable/enable) my ethernet adapter in Windows, doing so, i will see the 5GHz LED goes red for a while and then back to green.

Anyone knows why?

So you have two Airties already, yes it should be possible to add two more. As per the report here, you have to buy from SingTel two pieces of single unit (unpaired unit).

As for the configuration will depend on your home network situation. ONR or ONT, Ethernet ports location, etc.

Easy example :

ONR in DB box. Or ONT+SingTel AC Plus (disable WiFi) in DB box

ONR -- Airties in living room -- SingTel TV box
ONR -- Airties in master room
ONR -- new Airties in bedroom 1
ONR -- new Airties in bedroom 2

HWZ just released an article on WIFI 6 Mesh promotion.

Which one would be a good buy?

https://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/fea...review?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook

None of the deals seem to be good.

Of the four, Velop MX5300 and Netgear RBK752 are triband and of good previews. But the pricing does not seem to be attractive. Promotion price for a pair of MX5300 is about S$888. RBK752 is usually at S$699 so I do not see any real discount here.

The other two are dual band and the Deco X60 seems to have pretty bad reviews.

Thanks for the advice.

I have also shortlisted XT8. Do you recommend XT8? Will it work with Singtel?

XT8 is good. It is compatible with SingTel but the recommendation will depending on your answer to the following questions.

1) Are you using ONT or ONR?
If using ONT, good match. You need to configure Singtel VLAN.

If using ONR, a bit wasted. You have to set it up as AP to avoid Double NAT. Quite some features will be lost.

You can live with Double NAT by using it in router mode, then Ethernet backhaul may not work unless you can connect them directly without going through the ONR.

2) Do you have SingTel TV box?
If using ONT, no problem with you connect it to the main node. But not the mesh node.

If using ONR, you need to connect SingTel TV box to the ONR.

3) If you have SingTel TV box, do you need to connect it to the mesh node?

XT8 does not support this feature, no matter you use ONT or ONR.

Seems that I am using ONR.
No Miotv.

Saw D-link X1870 promo at $178. Do you recommend this model for mesh?

I see.

No one seems to mention the D-Link WiFi 6 router or mesh offering in this forum, so proceed at your own risk.

The price is decent for a low end AX1800 dual band mesh solution.

Since you are using ONR, please confirm with D-Link that it supports mesh in AP mode before buying.

Is your ONR located in the DB box? Do you have LAN ports so that you are able to use Ethernet backhaul? If not dual band mesh may not be good and you have to go higher end triband solution. But triband wifi 6 solution is pretty expensive now, like RBK752. Linksys Velop MX4200 is cheaper but exclusive to Starhub now. Asus Zenwifi XT8 is better but also expensive. The problem is that I feel they are all wasted to be used with ONR.

If you can use Ethernet backhaul, then cheaper solution like Huawei AX3 Pro will be good (AX3000, around S$80 per piece) from local online shop, performance should be better than the D-Link.

BTW, ONR is of Huawei or Nokia brand. All 4 ports will work.

If you have the ZTE like me, it is configured as an ONT, even though it may print ONR in the front.

If can use ethernet backhaul, ORBI RBK353 is on sale currently from the official website. Compatible with Singtel ONR.
