go to their website, click on rentals and from there u can specify wat u want and they will have a list of available houses/apts for rent. they usually have pics of the house as well
Ye, I have been using that to spot apartments everyday. Hardly come across a 200pw studio apartment. :)

Sounds seriously bad. I'm still looking for cheap apartments but can squeeze my gf and me. Seems like I can mark Manor out.

Parc is cheap, $200 for their studio. Despite of ppl advicing me to go for an onsite visit before making my decision, I've already placed my name on the waiting list. These apartments need to be booked well in advance. And if I dun like it, I can move out after 6months. Any other cheap apartments to recommend? I'm ok with apartments from New Farm to St Lucia since I cycle alot in sg everyday. Thanks.
Cycling here is by no means a easy feat, unless you have the $$$ to purchase a good bike. The upslopes here are really very challenging. I used to cycle in Singapore very often, but after coming here and purchasing a normal bike, I decide to ditch my bike and walk to school instead. Super tiring. Just my personal experience.

Slopes here are truly a challenge not just to ppl, but to cars too.

Think I must get a landrover or a prado before I can drive upslopes.

Manor 1rm apt should be abt 220-250/wk.

Any1 here likes to cook? We can exchange pointers :)

Will you be back in sg when I go? Guess not. :)

Will look you up when I get to Brissy, love cooking too. (Major reason is to save $$$, went to Melbourne and eating-out is way too expensive 4me)

Hey, I'm not interested in apartment but the house you bought. You bought a house! That must cost a bomb. How do you pay for it and how much? Is there any loan that you have taken up? And how much did you have to pay up front? You are a first for purchasing a house.

I'm curious too. It must have cost a bomb, how many years loan did you take and what was the upfront payment?

The only time when I'll ever head back to SG is when the SAF is goin to war and they wan me to make desserts for the "crabs & stars" while making "sound" decisions within the deepdown underground bomb bunker.

Actually eat out is not that ex, u just need to know where to go. I used to eat out but due to me comin home @ 10pm.... Cookin a pot of kimchi soup is the easiest way to go for a lite late nite dinner.

I like cooking, so I dun mind doing it. Every weekend, I will cook something western to share with my gf. Currently undergoing training from my mum to cook local dishes. The raw ingredients in australia is generally cheaper compared to sg if you know whats locally grown I think. In melbourne, a cheap meal is 8-10 bucks per pax. With that, I can buy ingredients and whip up a meal for 4. Haha.

Hmm... Actually, I dun know about the rest of you, but fishbuff, I saved up since my younger days and did all sorts of odd jobs to pay off my education. I'm still working now while taking distance learning (cheaper). Unfortunately, my family isn't rich either and they may not be there to support me if my savings run out. Thats the reason for me trying to save in terms of rental, food and transport.

Thats why I ask about the house. Considering of buying a micro-mini house instead of paying 10k for rent every yr since I've already decided on PR.

woa, i respect that!
i too had to endure 8 years of full time work and part-time studies as i have my wife and kid. studying from diploma, degree and to master. damn agonizing. had nervous breakdown.
i never earn more than $2k/mth when i hit 30. and did jobs with many smes.

time to break off from sg as i cant take the lies, deceits and exploitations.

U 2 are true power... Survivors.

I was born with a plastic spoon in my arse... my expenses and tuition fees were all paid for while I was still an uni student... till I decided that being an engineer makes no sense to me and wanted to be a chef... Then my dad took the plastic spoon away and shove a durian instead up my arse.

Chef sch I went and hard work I did... from dishwasher to kitchen hand to cook to barista.

Seems like we got ourselves here a grp of ppl who wants to take their dreams away from "home"

B4 buyin a house here, I think gettin a car is more practical. And cars being cheaper than in Sg...

Zetta, cookin no need to leran one. Just look, see and feel what you wanna cook. Raw ingredients are not that cheap @ all. Mince pork/beef goin for 10/kg. Chiveg is 1.2/bunch. Cost of living has gone up. Food stuffs are rather ex now. Never shop @ coles.. they are rippin ppl off.

Fish, which part of Jindalee is the chicken rice @? any addy? I might pop over on the wkend if I'm free.

I know how it feel since my dad is a chef too, worked from bottom up too. Now he runs his own restaurant and funds are tied down. Thats why I said nobody can fund me except myself.

I intend to get a car too, but paying accom rental is a "heartache". So I'm trying to buy my house as soon as I make enough after I grad. (As for cars, I'll look out for cheap 2nd hand cars that are still good on miles, but will walk or cycle at the moment)

Has food prices gone up due to the lack of fresh water? Last year this time, cauliflowers (big bunch) were $1 each. And lamb shanks 6bucks per kg in melbourne. Guess I'm in for a big shocker.

Fishbuff - respect that you tolerated nonsense here for that long. I know my funds may only be boarderline sufficent, but I rather die a freeman then to live caged up in this pile of crap. "When there is a will, there is a way".

Freedom is priceless. Being locked up in Sg will simply make you ignorant of a better life out there.

Fresh veg increased abt 25%. Meat is still stable for me. Lambshank is pretty cheap, unless u prefer the cream de la cream.... the racks.

If u need help in finding cars, I can help. Be it 650cc to V8, turbo or supercharged. I'm a car person. Infact I love old cars. They are so much fun thou they lack the brand new comforts. Give me a brand new Aurion and I still prefer my good old 17yrs old Nissan. :p
