Anyone regret getting iPhone X?

Wah i posted on macrumours about my opinion on some on the negatives of X, tio buttered left and right.

I think it is a good phone but not 1880 good. I miss my Plus bigger (usable) screen. The X reminds me when I went 4S to 5, just taller, not bigger. A lot of comprises for such an expensive phone.

The letterboxing and narrow-ness is getting on my nerves already. When using my Plus, even many old apps not updated to 16:9 after years. Now the cycle repeats for app devs to update to the taller aspect ratio.

i think we need to wait at least 3 months for apps to update

i remember when the first iphone 6 plus came out

it took whatsapp and facebook 3-5 mths to update

Somehow I feel that Devs will not update or even optimise the screen for iPhone X.

Look at iPhone 5/5S, that screen size also non standard but at least it is still rectangle. Many apps are not optimised for iPhone 5 & 5S also. Some games just add 2 bars to the side to block out the black bar that's all. Not to forget iPhone X "top notch", that require more work to do.

Who knows what kind of screen Apple will use for the next iPhone. If goes back to standard rectangle shape or near that, then all their efforts are wasted for just iPhone X.

Face Id much better... I hope can add more than one user though. Keeps getting locked due to others looking at it on my desk.

Actually is press and hold the app window can liao, dont need touch the small icon.

One thing I would miss is the ability to swipe away apps, instead of holding to tap on the "X" to close the app on the app switcher.

i am very surprised number of plus users moving to X.

X is not designed for plus users. at least not meant to.

you don't get those additional keyboard shortcut keys liked you do on plus.

still got a lot of gap/space. go set wallpaper. notice those 2 big buttons? i wonder is this going to be the future or jus a stop gap and it be changed eventually.

as mentioned closing of app -> hold first, wait for minus sign, swipe up.
switching off display from side button is tad slower.
notification center is a page but control center is an overlay doesn't seem right.
the display is good but have to use further to see if there is any degeneration in terms of image retention and burn in.
the display is softer than my 6. stupid PenTile technology.

so far so good. i love glass back. and the weight.

yea if you’re used to using the plus, the x probably not get suitable replacement.

It is more of a enlarge 7 than 7 plus.

Overall ui nor very consistent. Very unlike them. But most apps should be updated in the next year or so. It took some developers extremely long time to optimize for newer displays historically as there isn’t any incentive from a developer pov to do so

that one no choice ah.

now the face is always authenticating, need some user input to double confirm.

The notch is here to stay. At least for 3 generations. App developer can easily re-design the app to fit iPhone X display in X-Code. Apple has made it easy for developer to re-design their app. It’s up to the developer now.

It’s not always authenticating. It only authenticate when Face ID is needed. Double click on the side button will trigger the device to authenticate.

Price wise...me no say. If can afford then good for you..if not, ip7 or ip8 is still good.

I don’t miss Touch ID. In fact, I’m glad Apple removed Touch ID and move forward with Face ID.

Somehow my face ID will not activate when I want to install new Apps. Need to key in password leh

miss the lightning fast touch id on my 7 plus. but slowly getting used to the face id. on and off will press the home button on my x but there isn't any

True Apple introduced something great and hard to let go
