yes, even basic statistics and programming already is very valuable in many jobs. These guys probably just do basic data analysis, not real machine learning or programmingTbh, our data science team really isn't PhD material, mediocre programmers and they are already being paid $100K+.They are pretty good at talking though so my suggestion is whoever wants to get a career in it should at least know how to present and speak eloquently on top of data science skills.
That's why I said if you are world class at machine learning or programming, you will have 100k+ offers easily, up to millions annually
