you mean like Foodpanda? I tried with Foodpanda. not under dining. cuz iirc the merchant code is 42XX

Like direct from pizza hut etc.

While we are on the same topic, if I make a hotel booking online through a direct hotel website, is it also considered under Dining & Leisure?

Hypothetically if the merchant code is for hotel should not be an issue. Anyway if i not wrong, usually the actual payment will be when checking out from hotel not through the hotel website.

if book a room directly from the hotel's official website, its under [Dining & Leisure].

but if book from expedia, agoda, hotel.com, zuji, or travel agency, its under [Travel]

fully agree to merge this thread together with the official ANZ optimum thread.

i know some of my friends that do this, cancel the card A, meanwhile apply other bank's card B. 6 months later if there is promotion for card A, then go apply again to be entitled for promotion. keep repeating for A and B

i did that as well :s13:

been switching between DBS & UOB... both just love to reject my application

Need to clarify something....

1st year annual fee will be automatically waived right? Only subsequent years then they start charging?

The $100 rebate, need to charge $488 within 1 month from the date of approval?

This $100 cash rebate is actually reward points? Then this $100 can use to redeem what?

how to find out merchant code?
and which cat it falls under?>

dear foozgarden.

no need merchant code. Travel category: my travel agent is the charging party. even if i dun get it i will appeal and will most likely get it.

Tried EU travel and Nam Ho Travel. I guess all tour agencies work.

Within the first calendar year... no annual fee. 2nd year onwards will charge you.

Not sure what's your requirements for the 100 cashback.

Cashback can be used to offset your next bill or offset annual fees.

ANZ just called me to reinstate the card which was cancelled previously when they refused to waive off the annual fee. Annual fee already credited back to account. Now waiting for them to get back to me whether I can get back the optimum$ which was forfeited. If they don't return me the optimum$ I will cancel the card again, they have left a permanent scar on the customer relationship and there are better cards out there that I can use.

anz cso are among the worst I had encountered. the system is also very slow. I had waiver delayed which they slap on late fee. I called in, they reverse late fee but slap on another late fee. this recurrent late fees repeated three times before it finally ends.

but that said in terms of dining and groceries, optimum is a good one for me. I'm getting about 4.6-4.7% rebate on dining after rounding. I dun wan to be forced to spend using ocbc 365 or Citibank dividend, and I'm not sure if the 4 miles will continue for uob amex preferred. next two best are uob one 3.33% but that is useless once monthly quota hit and amex tcb but some merchents dun accept amex. do u have better cards to recommend?

as for groceries, I only live near ntuc and also uses redmart. I dun like smrt rebate that is limited to only a few merchents. so hopefully can apply 2nd optimum for groceries.

right now only in my 3rd mth of usage. I probably will redeem all and stop using in last 1-2 mths before annual fee kicks in.
