Read liao... i applied Card A yesterday to be used for a purchase of $500 so i will get the $100 cashback already... now i have another purchase of $490, if i were to apply for Card B will i still get the $100 again?

'new-to-bank' the meaning is first time contacting bank or first time after 6months... kinda blur

new-to-bank means ... new business relationship to the bank. yes you may terminate your card and re-apply after 6 months, you are rightfully still a new to bank customer but the same promo will have already been over by then. so no, you can't get the $100 again.

you may apply another ANZ credit card while still holding on to an existing one, but it doesn't sound like you are a "new-to-bank" customer to anyone who speaks the same kind of English language.

Applied this card yesterday for groceries rebate. Are guardian, watsons and unity in this category? All supermarkets should be straight forward in the category right..

- NTUC (fairprice, finest, extra)
- Giant
- Cold Storage
- Sheng Siong
- Prime

Anybody encounter problem getting rebate for the above list?

Hi Guys,

If i want to get the $100 promo, i only need to sign up for the Optimum card right? No need to sign any second card?

Thanks

Does anyone know how long it takes to get the $100 sign-up rebate? I spent more than $1000 last month and I'm still waiting for the rebate.

According to TnC, within 8 weeks of fulfilling the criteria

Will probably take longer than 8 week - It's been 9 weeks since my first month bill fulfilling the min spent amount but yet to receive the letter from the bank.

quick question. for each quarter, can i choose dining consecutively for all 4 quarters? or must change category every quarter?

thinking of using this as dining rebate card.

any other
1. non-min-spend
2. non-amex
3. non-dbs-miles

dining rebate card other than anz travel/optimum to intro?

Can choose same category every quarter. Can consider citibank clear platinum for 5x points for dining

i think anz optimum cc is the best for dining at 5% instant cash rebates without min spend per month. :s13:

how does citibank clear platinum cc works? how many points can redeem, any expiry? :s22:

yes, you can but the keyword here is "choose consecutively". meaning you still have to take the trouble to repeat your choice every quarter.

it will be perfect if the bank allows users to default to previous selected category if one forgets to pick one for the coming qtr.

take note that rarely anyone can capitalize the 5% rebate to the max due to the roll down calculation per transaction and per month.

for my case, i only managed to achieve an average of around 3.x% rebate per month which i find it's still not too bad.

Yeah, also best if can earn multiples of $50 optimum$ and claim them before annual fee kicks in. Don't end up having optimum$ that got used to offset annual fee or forfeited if cancel card

The rounding down can be largely avoided with careful monitoring near the end of statement date...

Does anyone has more info about websites like agoda.com or booking.com?

Will it get 5% under travel? ANZ is unable to give me an answer even though I said there should be past examples to rely on. Thanks

that only solves half of the equation. the rounding down takes place at every transaction too. also, monitoring is one thing, even if your records show an additional spending of $5.70 (as an example) is required, looking for something useful and at the same time worth exactly $5.70 to charge to your card is another headache. no?

anyway, i find it too stressful for all those calculation, i'll just make do with whatever i can achieve w/o micro-managing the numbers.

basically, the easiest way to achieve max 5% rebate is to spend it on big ticket items and charge in multiple of $600.

BTW, i'm looking to get a new small fridge in the range of 400-500 dollars. but after going through all the 4 categories, i don't think the fridge (or any electronic items) falls in to any categories. sigh.

I would like to pay at AXS eStation an one time insurance premium. Will this ANZ Optimum card earn any optimum dollar?

But if you spend in your chosen Cat the rounding down per transaction won't hurt the 5% too much

... an additional spending of $5.70 (as an example) is required...

The 2nd rounding only affects the cents. My Cat is dining so I go for a MacDonald lunch 4 days before my statement cycle to equalize.
