Appealling for infraction points to be removed.

We have given this issue further thought. The member mazuinaz has been permanently banned for creating a thread encouraging the cyberbullying of another member and for being a clone account. This decision is final and irrevocable.

I think the thread starter for that thread should be banned then.
He himself "cheated" or "scammed" which in turn incite people to insult/scold him.

Firstly, would it be alright for you to identify yourself? I believe it's extremely impolite and disturbing for one to condemn another without even revealing his identity.

Forgive me for being crude but it feels like rape, where the victim is assaulted without knowing the perpetrator.

I believe an esteem member like yourself, who had been entrusted the responsibility of "upholding the mannerism and social standards" of this forum, wouldn't be a rapist, or are you?

Secondly, it has come to our attention that there may be a possible link between you and the "victim".

The victim claimed in a previous post that he has a family member who is in a position of authority within the organization itself.

As such, it isn't too far-fetched for a common member to suspect that you may be related to the "victim" and thus relying on such drastic measures to assist the "victim" in reclaiming whatever dignity and esteem he had left. For as the saying goes, blood is thicker than water. Furthermore, I strongly believe that a sense of justice isn't part of the job requirement.

Lastly, I would like to highlight to you the severity of the implications of this issue. With over 30 members infracted and more than 5 members banned, you're risking the destruction, for the lack of a better word, of this established online community.

Not to mention the possible repercussions the victim may face for his scrupulous actions.

Perhaps you should ask yourself, are such actions really professional and beneficial in assisting the "victim"?

I believe the first action agreeably required by you is to simply identify yourself. It'll make communication must smoother and civilized.

For ultimately, everyone prefers to talk to a person and nobody enjoys being raped.

Dear Wolong, your infractions are warranted and will not be reversed. Insulting member's father for not "castrating himself" is distasteful, as is disclosing member's alleged home address. You have also been infracted for creating another thread in the Feedback forum.

this I also mentioned several times in the other 2 threads. all the warnings/infractions will make everybody remember this guy for life. Instead of settling the matter amicably by apology, this is getting blown up and snowballing. even those who want to forgive and forget may not be willing to do so now.

I feel pity not for us who received the warnings/infractions but for this guy who has lost a chance to redeem himself and score positive points. He is still young and he has many years ahead. what will happen if everyone remembers him for life?

the more this thing gets blown up, the more damaging it is for this guy and not for us.

(1) The member himself put his home address on all his own Internet websites. It is already public knowledge since it is on the Internet, put there by himself. It is obvious that once anybody has his name or email, they can find his home address because he put it there himself for people to see. It seems to me he is using his home address as office address, so is revealing office address an offense?

Even if you don't want to remove the infraction for me upzing his alleged home (maybe cum office) address which is all over the Internet because he put it there himself, what about the infraction for upzing his photo? And I didn't dig out all his profile and pics from the internet. I only upzed them for others to see after somebody posted them.

Anyway I don't want to spend time arguing over this matter. Like I said many times, the damage to us is small, the biggest damage is to this guy after all this warnings/infractions which added fuel to the fire.

I have a suggestion. The mod yesterday spent several hours to give out warnings/infractions, resulting in many angry forum members. TS was permanently banned also. The end result is both sides are extremely upset. The problem has not solved but has worsen. Wouldn't it be better for your mod to spend these several hours to try to seek reconciliation between TS and the forum members? TS's personal details are already splashed all over the thread. It doesn't help matters to punish both sides by banning/infraction/warning. Your mod can spend this time (punishing everyone) more productively to try to improve the situation and ultimately make this forum a better place for all instead of punishing everyone and making everyone even more upset. Why must punishment be the only way? and punishment doesn't solve the problem but instead worsen it.

This is the first time in my whole life,

i come across the most popular forum in Singapore which promotes/supports scamming, animal abusing etc.

Why so ? Cos the system protects scammers and animal abusers from being exposed, scolded etc by the netizens/forum members.

by banning and infracting all those innocent parties and forum members, in future no one will dare to expose or say anything if they got scammed or being abused anymore.

No one will report a scam nor a cheating case next time because by doing a right thing gets punished in this forum.

By calling a person by their own name can get an infraction.

By posting a detail which can be found all over the internet, gets an infraction.

By posting a picture which belongs to the owner in his Facebook/Open Blog, gets an infraction.

Forum Members will start to leave one by one if this goes on...

If the hardwarezone forum, ban me because of voicing out what i see and what i felt...then this is not a forum to stay on.

Just like NOKIA doesn't always wins. They may be the top handset manufacturer for the past 15 years. But they didn't last long...Why ? Cos they never bother to listen to the end-users' feedback. Stay stubborn and go by their book....

what happens if this happens in real life ?

you nabbed a thief and police give u a warning or fine for being busybody. do you think in future got ppl will help if there is a robbery / snatch thief doing a case ?

you see some elderly person fall down, u went to help her up and u get a scolding because you busybody again...next time will u still help ?

by doing something right and gets punished. this is so so wrong.

someone had been very busy yesterday, spending hours going thru the posts and giving out warnings/infraction as they deem fit. my question is whether the person is related to the scammer in anyway or the "punishments" are given out due to pressure from the alleged "senior editor" whom is the brother of the scammer?

things just doesnt seem right as fellow forumers are given infractions simply for quoting others? it feels like indiscriminate "killings" to me. as long as anyone commented something on the scammer, he will get "punished", hence the anger of the forumers. i do hope you can shed some light on the reason for the indiscriminate "killings" for it is so highly unprofessional to the point it seems personal? mods had commented they cannot see who gave out the mass infractions and it appears to us that it is someone who is either at snr mod or admin level.

and if someone had abused their authority at the admin level, should all of us be very afraid? as all our personal details which are supposed to be P&C could have been leaked to a 3rd party.

Already in China nobody dares to help others in case they get into trouble themselves. It's time for this culture to spread to Singapore, starting from this forum.

It's good that some of the infractions were reversed. But yeah there were alot infractions that are downright ridiculous.

The admin should give a proper explanation on why these frivolous infractions were given out in the first place. It almost seems like Aamir's (I am assuming the word 'Aamir' is no longer taboo ) brother just learnt about this forum, went in a rage and started clicking away.

A proper explanation would restore the users' faith that this forum is moderated objectively and reinforce respect for the terms of service. Otherwise this incident would have just set a regrettable precedent.
