i just 'activated' my DBS card using apple pay yesterday evening, not sure if its still within the first 50,000.

used it at fairprice, it was really fast, from the time i touch id on my phone to the cashier passing me the receipt, it was like within 10 seconds only.

Wanted to try out but is it really safe?

Yes it should be. Firstly, it requires your fingerprint via Touch ID to activate the payment so no one could use your phone without your finger.

Then also instead of your credit card number being transferred over to the Contactless reader, the Device Account Number is used which is vastly different from your Credit or Debit card number. This number is unique to the phone and only payment can be made using your phone. Only the last 4 digits is revealed so no one can actually use it in the first place.

Compared to Paywave or Paypass where anyone can take your card and make payment on your behalf, no signature, no PIN.

Is it impossible to enjoy both 20% rebate on SCB card (Apple Pay) plus charge $150 to enjoy SCB GSS promo, since Apple pay transaction is max of $100?

Thanks! Did not know about this promo with Amex Apple pay. Anyway, Amex Apple pay still does not work on my watch.

Any other promo with Amex besides this?

If we use Singpost card with Apple pay for grocery spend, do we get 20% rebate (apple pay) and 2% rebate (card benefit) totaling 22% rebate?

Yes they can stack.

If I not wrong Apple Pay should be a given in collaboration with Apple and bank personal credit perk is another.

Just found the Starbucks 1-1 breakfast can use Singpost also, as I forgot to change my default singpost card.
$6.9 plus 20% cash back, effectively $5.5 for 2 breakfast sets, very good value.
Sad it's expiring soon 10jun.
