The Apple "Remote" app for iPhone/iPad is not compatible with the new Apple TV

It's a PITA having to input Login ID & password using the new Apple TV remote. Well I'm not the only one complaining

And my Wifi is much faster than my cat 6.

I downloaded Netflix, Hulu, HDBGo etc from US store then switched back. Waiting for them to come Singapore. hahaha... very bo liao.


only Apple trailer works.

Apps discoverabililty in Apple TV App Store is still very poor. The tabs only have "featured", "purchased", and "search".

There's is no "top apps" and no "categories ". It's very hard to find good apps for the Apple TV. Have to manually go to search and enter an alphabet and browse one by one. This is really annoying. Hope apple improve the app store experience real soon!

Tested Speedtest.net on Apple TV and managed to get 430Mbps via wifi (5GHz) separated by a wall (router in study room & Apple TV in living hall).

After playing a while, I notice that not all the US content is paid. Some of the channel and live stream are free.

And also I notice that ATv is able to control my LG42" main volume, and when my ATv wakes up, my LG monitor will automatically turn on, and while I put ATv to sleep, mine LG will shutdown as well. So cool. This is suppose to happen on HDMI?

I found 2 apps which should be able to connect to NAS and browse your video library:
1. SimpleX for Plex (USD2.99)
2. VideoExplorer (free)

I have not tried these two apps, so i don't know whether it works or not.

I am still waiting for the official Plex app and VLC app.

I tried both the app. Simple X is the recommended one with Plex media server installed. Video explorer supported even older NAS just purely UPnP and DLNA.

I have installed the simplex as well and it work. btw glad I bought the 32GB instead of 64GB size since there isn't much interesting app to fill in up.

SIC good apps ok ?

so far, i only got
crossy road - FOC -can play for hours on "sabo" mode (2 players)
beat sports - SGD 12.9 - fun like wii
asphate 8 - damn smooth on TV !
speed test - good to have
youtube - the interface is quite good, but typing is diff !

we need a iOS apple remote on iPhone la

airplay video on iphone still lagging and breaks often.
HDMI adapter is smooth

airplay pictures... generally ok.
