Hi guys. I bought my watch in Singapore, but i live in Bulgaria. I see the ECG app but i can't start it because it's not available in this region. I don't understand why, cuz the hardware is from Singapore. How can i activate it or i have to wait?

Your activation is geofenced. You need to be in the regions of those with the capability with a SIM card under the telco to start the activation process.

This was a change Apple did back in iOS 12.2.

So if i go in Greece (they have the ecg), with my bulgarian card under roaming, it will not activate, because i'm not with Greece operator sim?

Yeah because it simply is not called that way and has been like that since the first day the product was launch, and still got people calling that.

Anyone know if Apple Watch S4 bought from Japan can use ECG here in SG? I just updated both iPhone OS and watch OS but cannot find it.

Omg. So I’ve been wrong since the start. I thought the activation process is geofenced. If going by the same model number, SIM card and GPS are needed to activate the ECG function.

Almost every region has a unique model number for the S4 actually.

No you cannot. You will need to wait for it to be released in Japan.

All Apple Watch sold in Singapore for Singapore will have the ECG. It is activated via a unique identifier within the watch identifying it as sold in SG.

Nope, just don’t charge it overnight should be no issue.

So far my Apple Watch from the first generation up till now got no issue.

Charging overnight is no issue, have been doing it since first gen Apple Watch until now at Series 4.

Nope, just don’t charge it overnight should be no issue.

So far my Apple Watch from the first generation up till now got no issue.
