“ In an Oct. 29 SEC filing, ARK reported that as part of the 2016 agreement, Resolute has "an option to purchase a controlling voting and equity interest in (ARK) that is exercisable in 2021," and said Resolute notified the firm on the same date that it "intends to exercise that option."

correct me if i am wrong, but even if there is short interest on ARKK, the traded price might be low, but if all of it's holdings shoot up, the NAV will be higher than the traded price. like that people can just buy it at a discount no?

For as long ask Cathie has control over the day-to-day and direction of the company even if she doesn't have a controlling stake, then shouldn't be an issue no?

If someone else take over, it is different. Everything is about the culture of the company. You parachute some ppl in, the philosophy is different

Yep of course. I’m just saying if cathie has the final say over everything, short of how profit is distributed (because it is based on ownership share), I.e. the new company really hands off, then technically wouldn’t impact nav of the etf since the nav is based on the underlying and not ark invest itself.

But of course whether the new company really hands off or not is another matter

Curious if anyone has done a study or comparison between the different Disruptive Innovation etfs out there.

ARKK is clearly the more well-covered one, but what makes us think it is the best of the lot? (If I'm not wrong the ER is more expensive if nothing else...)

There is at least one fund that has outperformed all of the ARK Invest ETFs.

When they took the investment from Resolute a couple of years ago, ARK agreed to give Resolute the option to buy a larger chunk of ARK at the same price. (It’s a call option; even though ARK is a private company, the option still works the same way.)

Resolute is exercising their call option. This is absolutely normal, and the whinging from Ark is a bit surprising.
