Pls lor, carbon bike objective is to save weight so dont want stand. Is there a purpose to remove numbers on shifters? If yes, why does high end di2 have numbers, illuminated some more?

Expert or non expert use becomes irrelevant. I cannot understand Shimano's logic.

Only alfine has gear indicator dura ace and ultgera don't have

Alfine is for city bikes so makes sense for a gear indicator

The last 2 are designed for racing , you could probably use the alfine gear indicator since I believe the system knows which gear it is on

Most riders don't use gear indicator because everyone of us has a favourite gear

When a few favourite cogs worn out, do you replace the sprockets or the entire cassette?

Since the whole drive train is connected do u change almost everything together as a set? Cassette + chain + jockey wheels + chainrings?

What about hubs and bb? Just leave to servicing only? How often to change out?

Currently, front wheel is unscrew type and rear wheel is quick release. Will eventually switch to Pitlock skewers since my wheels are extremely expensive.

Usually have to change the whole cassette cus almost no one sells individual cogs. Also usually only change chain and cassette when they wear down. Keeping your chain clean and properly lubed will help to extend the life of your drivetrain.

For hubs and BB that use sealed bearings, no servicing can be done on them, usually just replace the whole BB or the bearings themselves.

For hubs, unless the shop is the local distributor, chances are that they won't be able to service it. Due to differing tools or proprietary stuff used for each wheel brand etc.

Normal Di2 doesn't have indicators I think, unless you get an add-on part. Some buy a Shimano D-Fly to fix in series to Di2 so that their Garmin Edge will show what gear they're in.

After a while, you might find that you don't need gear indicator cus you'll always select a gear which gives you a good speed with reasonable effort, where you're not spinning too much or mashing too hard a gear.

Brompton.. no QR. I always roll my brompton around, even when i go to toilet, shopping center, etc. That's the purpose of a brompton.

For my Tern, there's QR. I don't park my bike and leave it unattended.. But sometimes if i need to go toilet for 30s, i will fold my bike and leave it against the wall so that it will make it more difficult for the thief to unfold before stealing.

might wanna stay away from your bike shop if they dont service lol, most "normal" hubs use a cartridge bearing which require a extractor and a presser
or a cup and cone bearing which you have to pull apart using a spanner.

got some other unique kinds but these 2 are around 99% of the hubs in the market

i use quick release and ulock, will unlock the front wheel and put it together with the rear wheel, never lost a bike in 5 years.

normally you change the whole thing, but i have never worn out an cassette or chain ring before.

i think chain ring and cassette can go until 50,000 km or so, but chain after 10,000km it will keep dropping off. normally if the teeth become sharp means its time to change liao.

hubs and bb depends on alot of factor la, for me cup and cone is easier to service myself, just pull and replace individual bearings mch faster and cheaper. ball bearings are like 30 cents each, mine hub has around 18 for both side so total something like 36 bearings ?

105 rd very responsive.

Cassette 11-25T + chainring 53t just nice for the terrain i ride.

No, actually to be accurate it's because the wheels' hubs are a SON dynohub and a Rohloff hub.

Did you tighten the saddle clamp to the saddle rail?

Normally when my saddle creak, this is the main culprit.

Care to explain further what do you mean by tighten saddle clamp?
