Is there any difference in the oval chain ring orientation during mounting?

Yes have. But my sram XX1 direct mount is designed such a way that I can't mount wrongly. So read the instruction on your chainring.

I suppose got difference if u position it differently. However, on my old road bike i cant really feel the effect of the oval chainring; probably u might feel it when climbing or over a long distance.

I still can't feel the difference between circular and my Ridea oval chain ring. Cycled from AMK to GBTB and back... same as circular chain ring.

I am intending to get a road bike and have a budget of not more than 1k. Am considering Polygon or Fusion.

As a beginner, should i go for flat bar or drop bar? Will be riding mostly on PCNs and occasional road if PCN connection is not available.

Lastly, are there any entry level Giant bikes which are below 1k? If yes, which bike shop can I go see see look look? Thansk!

Thanks. The stem looks a bit long, see if you can get a shorter stem (by maybe 10mm) on loan to try first. Don't change saddle position yet, that's usually the last thing to change, cus it'll also affect your pedaling dynamics.

What's your stem length right now? Before you do anything, how long have you had the bike for and how long does it take for you to feel the lower back pain come in?

For road bike, it'll be drop bars.. Just make sure the shop doesn't sell you a bike that's too big or too small for you.

Ride on pcn mostly don't take road bike. The thin tyres are dangerous with a lot of things that can be found on pcn or pavements like water, vertical metal drain gaps, wet leaves etc .

Road tarmac is ur Best Friend for ur 23/25/28 mm tyres

Drop bar like aero bar only riding with speed for Long straight roads .else most time u be on the hoods .

Buy the right bike for the right terrains

Best bang for buck is subjective. For me I bought Crius Master V for $600, knowing that I will likely upgrade the components if I don't feel happy with the gear shifting. Even if so, it will be cheaper than if I go and buy a high end specs foldable bike which will cost more than 2K.

But right after I learned about an online shop that sells customised Crius bikes, I immediately felt that the one I bought was too "expensive" (in the sense that I prefer to change many components and the existing parts will go to waste.) I could have gotten a new foldable body for $300, and install all the specs to my liking. Not just the drive train components, but the entire groupset and wheelset. Heck, even the seatpost and stem/post as well.

Any reviews on the B'Twin Rockrider 340 sold by decathlon? Is it a bike that would be good for PCN and roads? Getting it to get some exercise and shed some fats..

maybe when you move and stop, move and stop will not feel the overall performance increase.

In any case, I don't think anyone can feel the effect just by trying it casually, because the crank is still in circular motion; it didn't become oval motion just because the chainring is oval.

Before buying, have you ever tried riding a road bike before? Road bike might strain neck and back slightly easier than other types of more upright bikes. Asking this question just in case you don't like the posture on the road bike.

I find it pretty lousy value given that a raleigh mv8 retails at 400 SGD or so maybe lesser, gives you enough spare cash to upgrade your crap wheels and buy a proper helmet

Get a drop bar and get polygon , better resale value no offense to millen of fusion cycle

Tay Tampines aftersales service not so good...
I bought a road bike from them last year but the rear spoke broke after 5 months. Bring back to them to repair and the malay tech replaced a silver color spoke instead of black color spoke for me with a $20 charge some more...

I asked him why no black color spoke and he can still said they don't carry black color spoke then how come most of their road bike spoke are black color... KNN

Now the silver spoke look like a eye sore to me

Seems reasonable not to carry black spokes and 20 bucks is okay given that the wheel need to true
