Just bought a bone conduction headphone for my ride. The vibration quite shiok but might not be for everyone. Can hear traffic still especially when heavy vehicle or buses behind. Bass cannot compare with normal in ear but all for safety sake. Some may find it as dual distraction when riding on road, so far ok for me...hear wind and music simultaneously. Platronics relegated for public transport commute riao
I wonder how weird is it

Actually can be triple distraction which comes in the form of feeling the vibration on your cheek, music, wind and traffic sound lol but for some...distractions makes them more alert. Rearviz Mirror still a must for me when i cycle on road...the vehicle headlight reflection on mirror becomes a signal for me too

I went to do a bit of googling and reading up.

The loud clunk sound i hear when i pushed down hard on the pedal (during moving off) can be due to a few things, but all that i read never mention about wheel hub.

Without the proper tools, how do i check for loose pedal or BB? Anyone know?

TIA.

Does the chain skip?

I can't really tell, but it felt like my pedal slip a bit.
Only happens when i press down hard on my pedal to move off that time.

I had similar problem. The chain skipped when I pedaled hard, especially when starting off or going uphill. There's a loud clunking noise right? Try checking the chain if it's damaged. If yes you might want to check your casette and front chainring as well. Coz they can get damaged too.
For my case I screwed up the chain link, never noticed its not put back properly. Over time it got worse until the chain snapped. After changing new 1 the problem still persist. I knew somewhere's not right. I took the simpler way of changing the cassette 1st and the problem immediately stopped. Safe to say the faulty chain screwed up the cassette too. Funny thing is I can't see any bent teeth.

My chain is the newest or latest stuff i got. Didn't have this problem when i changed, the clunking sound only came like 2/3 months after the new chain.

I checked my chainring and cassette. Both are stock, so they are like nearly 4 years and just above 2k km. The teeth on both looked alright but there are some which are really sharp. Later i GPGT.

that kinda of sound can be from anywhere on the bike, loose crank, stem, saddle rail, crank ring bolt, pedals.. if u got time, can remove, regrease and put them.. sometimes u simply give up finding the source :s22:

But if the chain is slipping.. possible misalignment issue?

Bike experts here..

I am looking for a crank to be compatible with my BSA ISO BB on my Brompton.

So technically speaking, i just need to look for a square taper crank? Do i need to check whether its J.I.S or I.S.O standard? Are both interchangeable?

What's a good foldie around 700-1k range?

I would say Bickerton 1909.

You buy and forget. And if you wanna upgrade. There is less to upgrade because things that you WOULD upgrade first is already upgraded.. Grips and saddles. Comes stock with fenders.

Actually this Bickerton 1909 bike is Tern Link C7 but with upgraded parts.

Take a closer look and you will know what i mean.

It is a rebadged what. Haha. I don't see any differences.

But its quite good in the sense that it's 'upgraded'.
