So far, i haven cycle with groups..Usually with wife or friend if not last min solo..Typically clock around 30-40+km per outing..

Anyone familiar with joy ride group? Heard they cycle 5 to 6am daily covering around 40km?

Can ask you all, I remembered seeing somewhere in this thread about kinlin rims. How are they? Is it worth custom building a pair of 406 wheelsets?

Saw this 406 kinlin rims at only 250g a rim and 150rmb each. If pair with a set of ultralight road hubs and spokes, looks like can achieve very light wheels?

So far for a complete wheelset, the lightest I have seen is the Litepro Ultralight at 960g ($289).

Just curious and wondering if going custom can the quality can be better and match the weight at around same price(+/-$300+)? Excluding labour.

Ah yes I think so haha. The hubs that I came across was this

Saw some not bad reviews after googling and paired with its corresponding ultralight front hub. Only 277g and plus the 500g for the pair of rims. Not sure how much more will spokes add though.

Maybe I am too thinking too much also..have to see if hubs are compatible and also the trouble of bring all these in..Haha

Maybe you can DIY the wheelset. Get very good hubs as I believe the majority of the cost of a wheelset goes to the hub.

I am using the wheelset from taobao. so far so good, although I wish i should have added more spokes. My current wheelset is front 20 rear 24, with brass nipples due to my weight. I have snapped one spoke before as I entered a very nasty pothole along amk ave 5.

I'm planning to do weekday nite ride via old woodland rd > Neo tieow > LIm Chu Kang rd > all the way till Bukit Batok / Bukit Panjang end.

Time ard 11pm - 1am normally

Would like to know any kaki wish to join in ? Doing 2-3 weekday nites. We could have supper at Gombak at the Indian stall that opens till late to eat the delicious prata.
