Functional resume vs reverse chronological ?
Is the functional resume better for inexperienced fresh graduate ?
IMO functional.
When applying for a job and firms will tell us that they will call us if we qualify or not for the position, how long are we going to wait for them? How will we know if the position was already occupied?
Depends on the number of applicants. Typically 2 weeks.
The role will most likely be closed if the job ad is no longer around. If it is reposted again, means you are most likely not shortlisted.
Hi Headhunter, I had this interview think in 13th October, that only lasted 20 minutes or so and I felt I didn't do well for it, the atmosphere felt off as compared to other interviews I went to. And yesterday, I got a call from the HR, the HR ask me if i had gotten a job and ask whether I am still interested for the role or not. My very first reaction was to ask how come after so long then you guys contact me? (more than 2 months I think since interview) The HR say only now they had approval for hiring process etc.
So is the reason genuine? Or simply put I was a reserve choice? Like someone better than me decline the job so they scrambling to find a replacement?
It is possible that it is genuine.
Did you apply directly? or was it thru a recruiter?
MNC usually will interview first while getting the approvals in place. So when the approval is finalized they don't need to interview anymore and can identify the right people quickly.
Remember, approvals can only be triggered after someone resigns, then there is a time frame for the approval process.
But to be honest, 2 months is a little long, unless the role you are applying for is fairly senior in hierarchy.
