Hi HH,

Should I include 1.5 months experience in my resume. This is my most recent role.

Thanks.

how u guys find chance to go interview while u are busy working? need some tips to aim and find right time to go.
sometimes the employer just call for interview insincerely. not serious.
then it's wasting time to attend such interview and waste annual leave.

Hi HH,

How is GIC as a place to work? In term of career prospect, bonuses, and increment for IT Dev (mid career).

I am currently in bulge bracket US bank, will it make sense to me to move to GIC?

Thanks in advance

Stability wise Gic is better.

Pay wise they might not be able to match in terms of base pay but bonuses might be better.

Ask for lunch or after work.

Usually if they are serious they will understand and accommodate

in the IT industry here.
Are there recommended guidelines on how much increment I should look for when changing jobs? To be honest, I've only been in my previous job for about 9 months...

Percentage increment depends on how long you have been in your current and previous jobs as well as how much in demand your skills are

If you want to break into sanctions then you should go to a company that can offer you both tm and sanctions.

TM is closer to sanctions than kyc.

Some companies group both tm and sanctions together.

There are also companies that offer tm/kyc/sanctions but what it means is the sanctions part will be very small.

You might also want to question why you decide to specialise in sanctions as it is not very popular in Singapore for now

Hi HH,

I have been asked to participate in some kind of 2hr focus group survey, with the topic on "Career Choices". After researching on the building location, realized it is at an Insurance Building. They say they would pay $30 after the "session" Whats your take on this?

They are probably trying to sell you some insurance in the end or ask you to be an insurance agent

Would like to check with you, if I'm selected for a second interview. But during the selected date, I'm actually serving my reservist.

Will they actually schedule another date or my chance is gone?

No one can keep you a confirmed answer cause it depend on the Interviewer (Hiring Manager).

Hi HH, I'm a fresh diploma graduate doing part time degree. Recently I've gotten a pretty good role doing demand planning analyse at an MNC. They offered me 'degree range' pay of 3k per month for a 1 year contract.

I'm currently considering taking lesser modules for my degree and finishing it a year later than planned, so that I can perform better for both my job and studies. Do you think this is a good idea?

And do you think I will be able to leverage my current pay for future position? Such as being able to ask for 3.2k for my next job when I'm only a diploma graduate with 1 year working experience. Or do you think it'll be difficult?

Have had some experience been dissed by companies for just being a diploma graduate.
