For AML Due Diligence folks, if they wanna move up to eventually do Regulatory and Management, is a Law Degree and experience in the Bar a must?

Not a requirement.

Unless you are aspiring to be literally top of the top.

There are tons of regulatory people without law degrees.

Got a question for u sir:

Previously I have been interviewed and the company didn't reject. The recruiter called me the next week and told me that the offer is up and told me my pay etc.. The recruiter also mentioned he will help me get higher pay. AFter he called up the company and called me back, he told me that for unknown reason my contract has been on hold for unknown reason? Then the recruiter told me that he will call me back regardless of positive or negative news.

So WTH happened? It has been a few weeks ald and no news at all.

So how did you know the company didn't reject?

Possible that
1) The role is not urgent
2) Possible that they are considering someone for an internal transfer
3) The role got filled by another recruiter and your consultant didn't know about it.

Thats what I'm thinking, but I went to job sites and still see the same job posting by same recruitment firm -.-

Jobs ads don't get taken down immediately. Sometimes, just leave it there as you can redirect applicants to similar jobs.

Could also be the hirer decides to drop you on second thoughts. No need to get too hung up. Such things happen.

Hi, I have a quick question.

Does having short-term contract jobs (3-6 months) in different industries make one appear to be a job-hopper?

How will the employer typically view this candidate?

Hi,

Im in sales for 3 years now....29 yrs old already.....getting abit stagnant and sick of chasing numbers every month....

Thinking of switching to something more stable....wanna ask usually ppl jump from sales, what do they usually do?

I understand that I probably need to take a pay cut, but hopefully not too drastic....earning basic $3.3k.....plus comm avg about $7k...

pls advice. thanks!

Yes. Unless you can have a very very good reason.

Depends on what kind of sales. You will probaby get a higher basic but no commission (but it comes usually with variable bonus)

pure mathematicians are more rare.

why not dept of stats?

saw they changed the job requirements...

Actually the cohort of math major is bigger than stats major in nus iirc. n there are more math major from ntu as well (they have stats specialization... but i think they have too much math to be really consider as stats grad).

btw I applied for DOS. But guess i was too early. They 'kept for reference' me :( was wondering where stats grad usually gain employment in the private sector. Apart from healthcare n civil service, didn't see much ad from other industry.
