Hi Headhunter, I need your advice!
I have just received a job offer and I am going to negotiate for better package. May I know if the following factors can be used ?
1) I will be giving up my current company's bonus payout in January 2015. My current company's Variable Bonus is 3-4 months, so I am losing out at least 3 months of bonus.
I understand that Variable Bonus is not mandatory, but currently there is no reason to suggest that there will be no VB or lesser VB paid out for this year, especially when the company's financial performance is better than last year. I sincerely understand that HR may not take this into consideration, but I think I should still put forth this situation , as this is what I will be really facing if I accept the job offer.
2) In terms of country focus, my current role is on a regional basis where I look at the financial performance of all the countries across the world. For the role offered by xxx company, it will primarily cover *one country*. From xxx company's view point, I will be able to bring my experience in handling other countries into my role of single focus country, while it actually represents a decrease in country scope for myself. While I am willing & keen to take on the switch, I hope xxx can put more weight on this factor when drawing up the remuneration package.
How ? I intend to email something like this (with slight changes to details) to the recruitment firm.
