what happens if I was invited for an interview and subsequently told to fill up an application form containing o level and a level results (to be submitted prior to the interview). Will my chances be affected by my mediocre/poor A & O level results?

Yes to a certain extent. Unless your interview is so impressive that the hiring manager can overlook the grades part. But like I said it depends on which glc you applying for specifically because some are more stringent than others

1) yes
2) it means on paper the hiring manager think you are not suitable for the job
3) jobsbank is for real. But unfortunately the quality of applicants is not very good.

For example. For almost all the jobs I post. Out of 100 people that apply. Only 1 is good and the rest do not have relevant experience

Hi,

How to use linkedin to look for recruiters who specialise in my industry?
So I can drop them a mail indicating that I'm looking for potential job at the moment

Can send them an invite. You cannot email anyone on LinkedIn unless you subscribe to a paid account

Thanks for the informative thread. read all the way here.

My QNS: Applied for this position, company took longer than they said to get back so I had to reject cos I already had another job by the time they got back.

Now similar post open up. Should I apply? small coy so even interviewer will prob be same guy. like will it be awkward or they hold a grudge....?

just like that it is somewhat close to home.

Even if you do apply,I doubt they will shortlist you again since technically you rejected them previously

Hi headhunter, I went for my pre employment medical check up today, and they found my blood pressure to be rather high. Last year I did one and it was ok. I was rather nervous, lack of sleep due to the holidays and on some facial related long term medication which I declared may have contributed to the high reading today. He issue me a memo to go to any gp to have it check again any day. Just to check will I fail it and company reject me due to my high bp?

It shook me a little, I was rather an active guy and always look after myself... Dang

Imagine I took so much effort to hunt for a job and got rejected in e end due to hbp..

Usually companies will not reject people due to HBP.

The most common rejection for pre employment checkup is pregnancy, followed by terminal illnesses like cancer. So far i have not encountered any other case in my many years of recruitment.

Maybe can ask doctor to issue a letter to certify you and take medication?

He didn't give me any medication, but just a memo to see any gp to check on my bp again cause it might be a one of situation, he say for my age, late 20s cannot be so high. Will seek my family gp again to seek second opinion. Also I have a history of high bp on first test at any medical institutes I been to, then they will ask me to relax and take again which usually yield normal results. This dr damn fast, one time and say I got hypertension liao. Also when I walk into the dr room, his computer screen is on qoo10 website! Professional indeed lol
