I have a Sony 46EX650 and i bought a YSP 2200. I'm trying to get my television's audio through the soundbar. i connected tv's ARC to YSP's ARC using HDMI version 1.4.

No sound though, is there some settings that is needed? i notice the YSP is using ARC (OUT) what does it mean?

Another question. My soundbar seems to produce abit of echo (like concert) when playing from iPod dock. Is there some settings as well? i changed the music environment but it still happens. Any ideas? it shouldn't be this way.

Hi Kriatz,

Try following.

1. Audio Return Channel - Ensure both TV and YSP has HDMI Control turn-on. Check your HDMI is connected from YSP HDMI (ARC) Output to TV HDMI (ARC) Input. From here, it should work. Else, check your TV manual, it should state something in the manual.

2. Try turn off DSP Modes and see what happens. Use 2-Ch Stereo and see if this echo is still there.

I am using a RX771 currently and thought of upgrading my HTS. I'm using a HSU VTF3-MK4 subwoofer and I wonder if I should get another mid bass subwoofer. Can RX771 support a second sub? Would it turn out nice? Your advice please. Thanks. Below is the HTS setup I have.

I am wondering if I can link the TSX-112 to my TV via the TV's sound out to the TSX-112's AUX 3.5mm and use it as speaker for my TV. Is it any good?

Yes you can use the AUX input to connect the 3.5mm cable from your TV audio output.

Well, i can see you had got quite a couple of items.

According to what i can find on HSU subwoofer specification was, if you use only one port, the subwoofer can do as low as 16Hz. Which is very low.
If you dont mind i ask, what do you think you are missing in your setup? Mid-bass?

Having 2 subwoofers might not solve your problem if what you need is to enhance the mid-low bass despite V771 can setup with 2 subwoofers.

2. What is your Subwoofer Crossover settings in the RXV771 now? 60 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 Hz?

3. What is your Subwoofer Channel Level in the RXV771?

4. HSU Subwoofer Volume level is at what Volume now? Just provide a indication using clock, for instance eg. 12 o'clock means half the volume level, 3 o'clock clock-wise means coming to maximise the Subwoofer volume.

5. HSU Subwoofer Crossover is being set at which Frequencies? According to my online download info, HSU VTF-3 MK4 has a Crossover range from 30 to 90Hz. If half of Crossover should be at 60Hz.

6. Check your Subwoofer Phase from RXV771 is being set at Normal or Reverse.

7. Check your Subwoofer phase from HSU is being set at 0 or 180 degree.

8. Did you manually try playing with the internal GEQ in RXV771 for the Front, Center and Surround Speakers?

1. Can you adjust your subwoofer crossover to maximum? This way when you set your AVR Crossover to 80Hz, the AVR will send signals below 80Hz to the Subwoofer, but current settings was 70Hz and hence your subwoofer can only receive LFE below 70Hz.

Well, this also determines if your bookshelf can handle good mid bass between 60 - 80hz, you can try set your AVR Crossover to 60Hz and have a listen to it.

2. Try do a test to hear the difference in the Subwoofer Phase being set at 0 & 180 degree which is better.

After so, let me know if you achieve better effects.

I got a set of MHT 371 recently. Hook up a bluray player using the player's stock HDMI cable to connect to my LED tv. Say if im watching bluray, how do i set a ideal setting if my room is 3.3m by 2.7m only? Basically right now im only using the normal 5chn stereo function. The way i see experts here calibrate their HT and the sound i heard from retailers using the same MHT 371, im very tempted and eager to set/cal like theirs
