OH. Thanks so much for the valuable information.

Does Yamaha offer any trade in for older models, say we upgrade.

...

Hi,

Probably i think it'll be better to understand some basics of new technologies in a Blu-ray disc for Audio. Blu-ray discs have big storage memory. Hence it is able to accomodate higher sampling rates of audio data formats such as DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby TrueHD.

With this, common Blu-ray player can do 2 audio output options.
[a] Output bitstream the high sampling rate of audio data to the AVR to decode. (AVR must have DTS-HD M.A & Dolby TrueHD decoder)
Decode only DTS / Dolby Digital audio contents to output over Coaxial / Optical output connection into the AVR. (If AVR does not support HD Audio formats such as your RXV530.)

Your RXV530 supports DTS & Dolby Digital decoder.

If you were to purchase a BD Player now and hook up with your RXV530, it will work for sure. But the sound you are hearing, will be only DTS & Dolby Digital. Not the HD Audio formats such as DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD.

The difference is HD Audio formats has higher sampling rates of audio data while Non-HD Audio formats has lower sampling rates. Everything will still works perfectly fine except that you won't be enjoying the HD Audio performance from the Blu-ray disc that you have.

Higher sampling rates means more dynamics and details of contents.

Hope it helps you to decide should you upgrade your AVR.

Cheers!

Ps. Take a read on the hyperlinks i have provided.

Hi bro,

Thank you for your purchase.

Apparently the original remote is not learnable. You might still need the original Starhub remote to do it.

Cheers!

Hi, I just bought a htr-4066 from courts last friday and had it delivered to me on tues. When i was about to fill in the warranty card yesterday, I realised that it does not have the dealer stamp. However, I do have the invoice number with me.

Do I have to make a trip down to courts to get their stamp or I could skip it and just send the warranty to you guys straight?

Hi, do you remember how much did you bought the 4066 at courts?

Hi, I have ysp2200 sound projector, I will like to know what do I need to make it do the following:

1) play music from iPhone or android to the ysp2200 wirelessly via either Bluetooth or wifi.
2) play the sound to an headphone wirelessly (this is useful when I watch tv the sound only play to headphone without disturbing my children who is studying in the same living room).

Is it possible to do above with any accessory?

Help Needed with Setting Up

Hi,

I need some help and advice with setting up my sound system.

My equipment list is as follows:

1) Yamaha RX-600 AVR
2) Toshiba 50L4300 LED TV
3) Chromecast (plugged into (2))
4) XBOX 360
5) Blu-Ray Player (coming soon)

Additional notes:

Due to (3), there is a need for an audio out from the TV to the AVR. Unfortunately I only have Component out for my TV (no Optical, no HDMI w/ARC). I tried to hook up the Chromecast directly to the AVR as an input and connect the AVR to the TV via an HDMI, but apparently the system does not register the Chromecast that way (unable to link up to network).

Question: Without an optical out, will it adversely affect the quality of the audio, considering that the video streams are HD? I read that it is more desirable to transmit audio signals via Optical or HDMI.

yamaha pls help...

i juz bought the entry level rxv375 receiver and can't seem to able output of sound from tv. i put all my devices to the receiver hdmi inputs and connect a hdmi from its hdmi output to tv's hdmi (arc) input which is number 3. all devices able to work (i.e. sound able to come out through receiver) but not tv's.

my tv is connected with an indoor antenna and plug into tv's antenna connection. so when i on the tv,to watch tv i need to choose tv's source as tv and not hdmi '3' as compared to other devices and therefore no sound output from receiver. is ARC not supposed to work for tv in this way?

only way i can output sound from tv is to connect optical cable from tv to a free optical input at the receiver. is this normal? I wanna have tv sound to be output via receiver without optical digital cable, any workaround?

tv tuner source does not output audio to avr despite having hdmi arc connection

edit: problem solved, need to use an arc certified hdmi cable to get the job done.always thought arc certified,3d certified in hdmi is juz marketing gimmicks but i was wrong.

is yamaha manning this thread at all?

I set my bluray player to bitstream with my avr rxv375. i played a bluray with dolby true hd format and display on the avr shows dolby true hd but when playing bluray with dts hd audio master...display on avr only shows DTS.

called your service centre and realised u guys do not has a dedicated call centre setup. your technician told me all your sets will play dts hd master audio but will not decode them, i should let my blu ray player decode dts hd master audio then the display will show dts hd audio master.

he said yamaha set will only decode dolby true hd so that's why i was able to see dolby true hd at my avr display. is that true?

Hi tomyam,

Sorry for late response as i was out-of-town for a week+.
I suppose you are asking for RX-V677 instead of V675?

Let me know if you are asking for V677, you can find V677 info here.

Cheers!
