Hi,

So my question is that if I have a Blu-ray player (LG BP325) with a digital audio output (coaxial), can I hook up via this connection to the YSP-1400 on digital coaxial? "Yes"

It should refer to the same thing, am I right? And then for the blu-ray video signal, I can hook up the HDMI output from the Blu-ray player to the HDMI input of my TV? "Yes"

And then finally I can hook up my TV to the YSP-1400 using the digital optical port right? "Yes"

Just to simplify, using your Blu-Ray player audio out coaxial, input into the YSP-1400. If you are using any cable box, optical or analog out from it & connect to your YSP-1400. If you do not have any, then you can only optical or analog out from ya TV.

Thank you.

Thanx very much for your reply, Gary. I'll have both StarHub cable and mIOTV so I guess the best choice is to use the TV as a switcher then. But then is it true that most TVs will dumb down the surround sound to stereo on the optical connection? Oh ya, last question. Any difference in terms of sound quality between digital optical and digital coaxial?

Thanx.

Hi,

In the case of surround sound, this means that all digital surround formats eventually are decoded as PCM, be it what connection you are using.

Optical & Coaxial, don't tell much on the difference. Both cables offer more than enough bandwidth to support any audio system’s needs.

Thank you.

Hi! As for this new Dolby Atmos, it will only be available on RX-A2040 & A3040. Due to hardware capabilities, CX-A5000 will not be available for firmware update to include Dolby Atmos.

Hope you understand. Thank you!

For piano lessons, does Yamaha offer piano lessons (classical) for adults (age 24)? As I know that starting piano at such an old age is very tough, will there be teachers who are specialized in people like me?

Will the fees be the same as the normal rates? As I have seen many places that charges extra for adults due to the lack of consistency in attendance.

Also, are there piano lessons at the Thomson plaza branch? As i've seen from the website, there isnt a piano schedule for the Thomson plaza branch, but was still reflected in "music school locator" function.

Thanks. Does YSP-2500 has a tuner to decode the FM signal from the Starhub coaxial point? Maybe to be more specific, which port on the YSP will that Starhub FM point connect to and how to tune it?

Btw, any promo for YSP 2500?

Hi,

YSP-2500 does not has a FM tuner built in. Alternative to playback your FM stations, you can download the app from your mobile store, ( SG RADIO ). Switch your YSP-2500 input to Bluetooth, open up Sg Radio and output the signal under YSP-2500. Now you can playback all your FM stations from your mobile phone.

Thank you.

Hi,

Can i know what are the ways which i can improve my FM radio receiving?

Currently just using the supplied cable for the FM. I keep having intermittent lost of audio or the vol is not consistent.

I don't have any FM connection point in the house.

Hello,

We just brought in our new Bluetooth Adaptor called YBA-11. I think you can use your smartphone and playback radio via Apps such as Tune-In Radio and Bluetooth stream it into the YSP-4300. Through apps streaming, it is much stable. Personally, i also use Tune-In Radio app on my iOS device. I believe Android also has this app.

You might want to consider using your smartphone to do streaming of radio. And get a optional YBA-11 to stream your music into the YSP-4300.

Cheers!

Yamaha RX-V777

Hi Gary,

I have a pair of active monitors and I plan to connect them to the AV amp. As the only connection is via RCA cable, can I connect via the Pre-out L/R channels of RX-V777?

Hi! Do you plan to use this as your secondary speakers for another Zone? or you plan this Active speakers for your front speakers?
