Hi Yamaha SG,

I'm trying to find the ysp 2500 but realised that places like best denki and courts are no longer carrying it. Is it going outta production soon?

I wld like to put this soundbar in my living room with only effectively 3 walls, 1 in front and back and side is a glass balcony door. Wild that affect the performance of the surround?

TIA

Hi Takeshi,

YSP-2500 is out of stock in islandwide, est arrival for is end April/ early May. No, this model is still be in-production as YSP-2500 only half a year old in the market. It will in a couple of years before discontinued.

Given your layout, the performance of the sound will be still good as many of our customers a similar layout of the room.

Hi guys,
I used to like Yamaha AMP n the last one (RX series) I had was throw away long ago.
The best that I liked about their system was the wide level of adjustable presence and delay, which create a wide space of sound experience.

I start looking for a sound bar with some good reviews, providing good wide surround sound with adjustable parameter like the one i had before.

I still keep my old active sub, only need front, rear + center speaker.
Looking at an old model, the YSP1100 which has a good review but quit ex indeed.
But can a sound bar system support my old active sub?
TIA

Yes, you can still use your existing active subwoofer with our YSP series.

YSP1100 has been disconnected for quite sometimes already.

I will Pm you the models.

Cheers!

Hi all, Just bought myself a Yamaha 477 receiver and did YPAO auto calibration. The immediate difference I notice between my previous 663 and the new 477 is that the vocal is very soft and action is too loud... typical issue. My previous 663 was calibrated by the installer but 477 I bought it on my own.

I tried the following:
1. Increased output of center speaker and lower slightly on the rest..
2. Changed dynamic range to multi/auto

What else can I do to improve this?
What sound mode will be better? I was using PCM on 663 but I can't find this on 477

I typically watch Blu ray and movie files on HDD

TIA to all

Considering the Yamaha 2500 for my living room.

The room is rectangle shape.
Left wall is about 1m away from speaker, glass panels.
Back wall is about 3m away.
Right wall is about 5m away (kitchen wall).

Can the speaker still function optimally?

Just want to share my experience which I guess all should be aware. The customer service and after sales service from YAMAHA sucks big time.

I emailed them, message them through official Facebook page, PM here and I received zero response. Note: I have given them enough time to respond. This isn't the case from most reputable brands out there.

They decided to 'entertain' me.... only when I start to post my disappointment here openly

potential buyers, please watch out.

I notice that the Yamaha threads have been removed from the stickies - that was not done by the mods, so it must be a higher level decision from admin. Maybe they stopped paying the bills / sponsorship to HWZ?

Anyway, I hope YamahaSG continues to help our members here.

Hi, so do u mean that 1.60 no issue at all?

The URL forum you have provided is mentioning Yamaha PA(Professional Audio) model.
For RX-V771, we called this as “V” Series instead. In addition to that, the post you have provided was mentioned in Jul’13.
Our latest firmware version is only released on 11 Nov 2014. Please try the new firmware.

If this is still a problem, please direct contact our service centre and send in your unit for them to diagnose.
