Hi all, if I'm using this for movie watching, heavy programming and designing, light gaming once a while, wifi surfing, is it recommended?

I like it because it's light and quite thin. Any advice?

Hi,

Been looking around for 11.6" notebook and found this.
Price wise, as stated in USD, it seem it will not be > $1.4k. Screen is larger and to me, still potable enough.

Wat attracted me was the long battery life stated. Anyone can explain how they measure the batter life? I am looking for one that last me around 8hrs or more. In the 8 hrs, properly I be doing words document and listening to music and surf net. Would this last me 8hrs with such usage?

I read that it should be available this month. Any one know if it would be delayed or the next possible arrival date?

the article (link above) could be misleading on the weight n battery life.

the fact should be these:
a) Config 1: 8-cell, 1.6kg, up to 10hrs of battery life (5600 mAh 84 Whrs)
b) Config 2: 4-cell, 1.44kg, claimed battery life was not stated. but if u halve that of 8-cell, u get 5hrs. in real-life situation, however, it could be just 2-2.5hrs. if the 4-cell can really last 10hrs, it can't be weighed 1.44kg. ;)

Yup. I understand what the article meant so no worry.:D

What I want to know is how they come up with the battery life whether 4cell or 6cell. Under what usage condition was the batter life determine.:s11:

So far, this is the model that fit budget/usage/weight/mobility/battery. More of a home business laptop which packs more power than a netbook, and more leisure travels.

Not using it to play games. The most is Football Manager, which the default Intel HD graphics can already support.

I only want the long batt life and the light weight.

Was looking at netbook and my friend recommended me to look for 11" notebook. Then found this. Graphic card is not impt to me. Not a gamer. Kind of worry it will be too big as I am thinking of bringing it around.

Haha.... not a fan of Apple. Their things are way over price.

I want to prepare study notes using power point etc. If use Ipad or something similar like galaxy tab, seem rather inconvenient at least with current development.

Looking at a few model. U36 is definitely one of them. Got some question.

Does it come with a USB cd rom? First time buying notebook without cd rom.:D
Also, I have checked amazon, the battery offered is the 8 cell one. Would the 8cell batt be part of the standard package?

USD999. Hope it will be ard $1300SGD

A new external USB DVD-RW ROM should be around $80. New laptop may have bundled this as free gift. If not, i am not too worry about it :)
