normally with such a thin casing, CULV CPU will b a better choice for lower heat n lower power consumption. unfortunately, CULV is more expensive.

Ya true. But I bought this as a desktop replacement as well so prefer to the normal CPU actually got my attention. :s13:

Now waiting for chance to test out on my friend U2711 to see what the resolution is like. :s13:

I ended up buying the Acer 3820TG to save 300 bucks.
It is thicker, heavier but still damn nice. Only weak point is the screen, but I have an external at home so not too affected.
Just palying SC2 and it runs smooooth ;)

Seriously. After posting 3 more post then u say u dun wish to create havoc....:s11: All technology stuff has its pro and con. what you have posted in the last 3 post is rather unfair.

Also, dun you think if your comment was " glad that I have not recommended this notebook due to heat issue" might be a better one and you would not have triggered all these feedback? Try to take a step back and look at things and I believe you will be a more wiser person. Cheers.:D

hmmmm... most laptops will have some heat issues one right? especially if you run more intensive programs & games...

for U36JC owners...

if your external dvd drive do not come with a usb to DC cable, can get it from Asus service centre.

Bought it during the IT show and found that the dvd drive is running intemittently, go back to vendor (Challenger Funan Mall) service centre and the supervisor say the dvd is running fine and tested no problem. Even when I run some disc in front of the staff and there is still lagging to it, they still insist the drive is working fine.

In the end, I went down to Asus service centre and they said that the vendors should provide the cable to power up the drive.

Thanks jyloh for this important information and also the trouble of running here and there >.<

Very disappointed with such dishonest vendors... Seems to me that there ain't many honest re-sellers in Singapore =(

Not really into game so no pro for that. Ha. Will wait for a chance to see it with my own eyes to see how it is. Scare the image would be blur to my liking.

Ya but I think this is abit more. haha.... dun really place it on my laptop. Been using notebook for abt 8yr and never really placed it on my lap. Too tiring for my neck. haha...

Just clash my system yesterday when trying to install some software. Lucky I prepared the recovery disk. :s13:

About the nano silver keyboard cover. They actually have shop selling it. Search the net and you should find their home page. Still no reply about availability of cover for this notebook.......

nano silver keyboard... looks cool =)

Anyway... found another in-depth review on Asus U36jc with highest possible specs...
It was able to play Modern Warfare 2 with some lag on [AUTO] setting and when he switched to [LOW] the game was very smooth, except 2~3 instances where there was a slight lag...

Ya saw that before. But to have game run smoothly, you have to disable quite alot of function. But well, for such a small notebook, i would say it is great. Hoping that when Diablo is out, this notebook can perform as wel.......

Oh ya, anyone can recommend a notebook sleeve for this that fit nicely?

And I have emailed the sale for the nano keyboard cover. Still no reply. Will update here once I get it.

Ok will go take a look today. :). Still thinking to use my normal bag to carry this or my crumple notebook bag. If using crumple, the padding should be enough but the big is huge.... haha.....

UPDATE on Nano Keyboard Cover: Not available yet. The manufacturer not making this yet.

UPDATE on Macbook Sleeve.
Searched the net for the Incase sleeve for Macbook.

The fitting for macbook is just nice. The macbook pro depth is 5mm shorter then U36JC so dun think it will fit. Manage to dig out my Vaio S series case which was bought 5~6 year back and it also dun fit this notebook. Any suggestion?

1. read up more - it has been asked alot of times same for your qns 2
2. you can't thus Optimus. If you want to switch you should have opt for ATi gpu.
