Anyone knows where to buy 8cell batteries for u36jc?

U can try asus service center but gonna cost $200+ i guess. Or u can try OEM at those sls backlane.

Is the laptop hot~? If so, after how long of usage~?

How long can the laptop last~? Just pure surfing and programming~!

Does it crash often~?

Warm hot..depends on ur CPU load. running games,video conversion will cause it.
4 cells batt last about 2-2.5hrs on normal usage...surfing,watch video...No gaming. There are 4 modes, high performance,entertainment,quiet office and batt saving. using batt saving(max cpu load @60%,lower brightness etc) will give me about 3-3.5hrs.

No. It does'nt crash.

I think a SB refresh is going to be out soon. IIRC saw it on engadget or something. Those looking to buy should hold on for abit.

i feel it quite cool....

Its pretty ok if using in the day, but using it at night to watch movie, will keep having a bright blue spot glaring at you.

Nevertheless, I like this notebook a lot. Truely light and thin. Very sleek looking, feel like ASUS design has finally caught up with sony.

Hi,

Anyone looking at upgrading the HD to a SSD?

I have checked & U36 is using a Sata 2 Seagate Momentus 7200rpm 500GB HD.

Hope with the change, my U36 can run cooler, improve batt life & boast its performance.

Had thought of Western Digital Black & Momentus XT but dun think I can really see a difference in performance.

Anyone change their U36 HD to SSD already?

Optimus Nvidia with Atheros N WIFI

Has anybody noticed a problem with connecting to a 802.11 N WIFI? I am only able to ping from cmd prompt both ip addresses and addresses. However, I'm not able to access them through a web-browser. I read elsewhere that it was some interference between the Optimus driver and the Atheros driver. The only way to get it to work is to force the wifi driver to only pick 802.11b/g connections.

Any ideas?

hii.. anyone knows where else can I buy a cheaper 8cell battery for u36 apart from asus support centre? the 4 cell battery life is really weaker, quite trouble to use it in school, always need to find a plug...

saw it at $1398 for 750GB hdd at Funan roadshow last weekend.
Is this a reasonable price?

cpu is i5 series
didnt take note of the battery cell type.
