TW already got the second JB update a long time ago.

But this new firmware that just came out is of a higher version number..

So probably TW might get some updates

By any chance did you over-charged it on let it drained completely? Try to see if you can boot into recovery mode by holding the volume down + power button

First, do this before you load in ur stuff as it will factory reset your phone.
If you have already loaded apps, use the Asus backup app to backup the apps and transfer to your PC.
The factory reset will wipe all data on the internal storage as well.

1) download the tw firmware from here: ASUS - Mobile- ASUS PadFone 2

get the latest one, which is 10.4.7.10

2) then unzip and go into the folders till you hit TW_A68-10.4.7.10-0-ota-user.zip

3) Then transfer this zip to your internal storage.

4) Now you need to reboot into recovery. Ensure fast bootup is NOT enabled and turn off your phone ( by default it is not enabled )

To enter recover: press the power button + volume down together

then select 1. Enter recovery mode.

5) In recovery, select 'apply update from external storage'
search for the zip file that you just copied and flash it.

6) when it is done, select wipe data/factory reset
select reboot system-> DONE!

tried re copying and re flashing and all was good!

Flash a second time.
The first time is just to re-partition.

The second time is the "real" flash as the /system files are overwritten.

Pls note that this is for the TW firmware only. Cos TW firmware has Garmin map partition.

I suggest you to try the new WWE firmware 10.4.9.6 as it is even newer than the TW firmware and does not need partition.


Update: I just flashed over to the new WWE firmware from TW, and been playing for about an hour
First impression:

1) No Audio bug that i had previously on the TW firmware
2) Youtube on tablet has fullscreen enabled
3) Wifi slightly stronger
4) More stable
5) MHL is great
6) GPS locks quite fast, I stay in HDB and i can get a lock from my window
7)

Have to test the rest: battery life, more phone > pad >phone transitions, Camera

Yes,

But sometimes things go haywire and you might be stuck in a bootloop or at the boot logo.
the only way to fix that is factory reset.

So always backup your stuff before flashing, have been the golden rule all the time ( even when you are not playing with firmwares)

Done!... although it didnt say re-partitio stuff. it said verifying something..and then aborted. seemed too fast for a flash.

then i rebooted and it seems to be stuck in the bootloop.
shall wait for a while more, before probably factory reset i guess =\
