what are your prices for the white padfone 2 and the normal black padfone 2?

yes firmware from asus padfone 2 site. think worldwide customer base for asus shd b bigger than tw alone so not worry abt asus not doing a proper job for wwe firmware.

what is the diff between wwe and tw firmware?

It's really quite difficult to find accessories and support for padfone 2, so quite happy to find an active community here in sg... XD

In any case, today my padfone (Original Starhub Firmware) prompt me a firmware update...
but after i back up my apps etc (just in case) i couldn't get it to re-appear...
Did anyone have the same experience? it happen about 945am today (Fri 4th Jan)...
Oh well...

Oh and does anyone know whether starhub will have their NFC-wallet services available for padfone 2?

Review of Padfone 2

Hi Guys,

Great to know that the PF2 forum here is alive and bustling. Got my phone about 2 weeks ago and here are my thoughts so far.

Asus Padfone 2 32GB - TW V10.4.7.10 Firmware (manually flashed from Asus website)

Cons

1. No led notification
2. Camera on auto ISO setting bumps ISO to 1600 too easily for indoor photos, resulting in excessive noise.
3. Uncommon phone so accessories like tablet sleeve, phone cases and screen protectors will be harder to find
4. No sd card support - unable to rescue user data if phone fails catastrophically
5. Will have little custom development & ROMS from the XDA Android community unless user base grows
6. Stock jellybean lock screen pales in comparison to HTC or Samsung - can't configure the shortcuts.
7. Pad station screen resolution isn't HD
8. If phone fails, pad station becomes useless.
9. Wifi signal strength weaker compared to other phones. Observed using Wifi-Analyser app.


Pros

1. Vibrant, clear, hd phone screen with great outdoor visibility
2. Superb build quality, case and hardware buttons
3. Camera is blazing fast in burst mode and takes great outdoor photos. Sweep panorama available.
4. 720p video at 60fps makes for super smooth playback or slow motion playback. Great video quality.
5. Latest snapdragon s4 28nm chip set results in excellent battery life.
6. High performance with 1.5ghz quad core processor.
7. Released in Oct 2012 with ICS, upgraded to jellybean in Dec 2012. Asus commits to fast software upgrades. Near stock android experience so android updates will be speedy.
8. Extremely good value for money with phone and tablet combination for SGD999
9. Pad station saves on extra data subscription, ensures that all data is always in sync between tablet and phone, pad station acts as backup battery pack for phone

if you just got it recently that update is not for Jelly Bean update but just an different firmware version but still in ICS. I do got that prompt when I gotten the Padfone 2 from Starhub.

Has anyone tried to use USB OTG on the PF2 phone?

Asus webpage only says that the Station supports "USB 2.0 Host", so I'm not sure if the Phone supports it.

My firmware is JB WWE.
i am able to use OTG on the phone and the station.

But my friend using ICS starhub firmware is unable to detect OTG on the phone, only can use in station.

Nope... I've been using my padfone for a little over 2 weeks now...
the main reason i haven't gone for WWE version is that starhub might provide NFC wallet support...?
together with the JB update i hope..? XD

After flashing to TW Firmware, i've problem transferring files to Polaris Office. I transferred some PDF files to Polaris Office but on the phone it shows no PDF files. But when i open Polaris Office thru internal storage (USB), i can see the files there. Though i can see the files, i can't open or transfer it out.
Another issue is, when i connect the phone with USB in my office PC, the Polaris Office didn't show up on the phone internal storage.
Anyone kind soul can help? Do i need to re-flash again?

what is the diff between wwe and tw firmware?

no critical difference imo except that no garmin partition wch is the primary reason why I flashed from tw to wwe firmware.
