Maybe can expect better things in Padfone 3

Things i'm hoping to see in the next Padfone

1) A 7" docking station instead of 10" with a 1080p res
2) A 1080p res on the phone itself with 600 nits brightness
3) micro sd card slot makes a return
4) At least 3000 mAh size removable battery on the phone and 5000mAh on the station.
5) A Windows 8 version as well as the next Android as the OS.

and LTE, NFC, wireless charging, next gen quad core, 12mp back camera, 2mp front camera, 2gb ram and min 32gb storage as standard.

Looks like most of the features i'm wishing for back in last November made it in the Padfone Infinity. Except for the micro sd card slot, 7" docking station, wireless charging and 3000mAh removable battery on the phone....

Yeah..
FonePad is really just a 7" tablet that can make phone calls...
Still sounds really boring to me...

The padfone infinity however.. Although yes interesting... But I feel they've stopped innovating...

I understand that the main challenge of the padfone is how the 2 resolutions switching is complicated.. So what they decided to do is to push the phone further so that both resolutions are the same.. And slap an unreasonably high price on the device..

EDIT: in addition.. The tablet doesn't seem to have any design improvements.. In fact it looks exactly the same like what I'm holding now.. (eg: how about the disappointing mono speakers?) Last time with the new strong design concept, it was justifiable to make a totally new tablet.. Now, is there any reason why it isn't compatible with the old padfone 2?

So far I'm not really impressed with this new product..
Suddenly I'm more looking forward on the next iteration of nexus 4 and nexus 10.. Or how windows products will evolve in the next one year.. Well.. I am curious seeing what Samsung can flaunt with their S IV...

Same, 2 months only outdated riaos. And still havent even got my hand on padfone2 official cover. Sucks.

lol at this... so true...
they're probably not pushing it enough, since it seems it would probably be compatible with the padfone infinity as well..:spin:

I only want to buy the new station, if it's compatible with PadFone 2 that is (highly doubt so)

considering that the new padfone is 5" instead of our 4.7"...?
probably not... =:p

but honestly.. the only distinct improvement of padfone infinity is the higher resolution and the unibody case.. (i would assume 1.7 GHz is a bit (and not THAT big) of improvement, being offset by the resolution it has to support as well)

and personally the current padfone's finish really isn't too shabby..

so.. if the retail price is accurate...
i think padfone 2 is still worth it's price today...

we shouldn't feel shortchanged. :)

hey guys ill really appreciate if someone could help me urgently. i was updating my phone to WWE version from Starhub fw when it says installation aborted after it read the zip file. i then chose to reboot my device and it got stuck in the boot logo, it did went into the silver ASUS logo with the loading sign but however after while it reverted back again. i try to access the recovery mode but as soon as i let go of the power and volume buttons in the recovery mode page, the phone vibrates and i am stuck in the boot logo again. is there anyway i can get my phone working again without factory reset (lose data)?

Transfer back the zip file to the phone and flash now again.

The first flash is to re-partition ( cos you are trying to flash to TW, only TW needs to re-partition).
Sometimes re-partition will wipe everything

I don't know why you will get stuck the first time you tried to flash WWE.
I guess your zip might be corrupted.

I have already successfully flashed from starhub fw to WWE for 2 of my friends and no data wiped:)
no abort while flashing too.

I like PadFone 2 more than 3. 4.7" already a little bit uncomfortable for single hand usage, and I still think 720p is enough for smartphones. 1080p kills battery like chopping tofu.. I'm really fond of PadFone 2 back texture too, like to molest my phone every once in a while :D

Only reason I want the 3rd gen station is the 1080p screen, which will come in handy when watching videos :s22:
