it's just the price to pay for following technology. to be fair to asus, they do deliver on what they promise -- but custom roms are not one of the promises.

from your sig, i think you were upset about your tf201. but asus did deliver on the promises about tf201: long battery life, lighter, better camera. heck, asus gave it frequent updates if i recall right and even gave a free gps adaptor for everyone who bought one i think.

if you are upset, you probably will be feel even worse about acer.

sorry, ignore me...i'm just a sad prime owner

I have the prime tf201 and s3 (non Lte, rooted with an awesome Rom) and
They just got replaced by PadFone 2.

I carry around s3 and prime all the time, they are good. The super community support for s3 and I'm impressed how often the prime software got updated.
Just that PadFone 2's synergy works so well for my lifestyle.

Of course I am mentally prepared for the cons of owning a non mainstream gadget.
Minimal accessories and support probably won't last as long.

You gain some, you lose some. We gotta manage our expectations :s13:

Another question, what is the usable space? ( when you first get the phone)
for 32GB model.

And how is the partition like?
Like a partition is reserved for apps

Usable is 25.4 gb and app data partition is the same as sdcard so full 25 ..

a very useful app is the home launcher switcher (by kewang i think) which allows you to choose the home launcher for phone and tablet separately. unfortunately, effective as it is, somehow it causes big battery drain.

They wasted quite a bit of space there in /cache, 1GB for cache is overkill. 256mb is enough.
The same goes for /dev , /mnt/asec & /mnt/obb.
They can be halved.

Don't know what the Asus engineers are thinking..

anyone got problems with Play Store not being able to download anything?

are you using starhub for home internet and wifi wont dload for google play on all your android devices?

A) call them & whack them then ask them change/reset ip/dns on their side for you. if it still doesnt work...

B) go into your router setting and use google public dns address.
https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

if it works, gd job. if it doesnt, whack starhub somemore.:s13:

recently i had a problem similar to that.

Subscribed new ASDL starhub line(Because the office only has tel line).

All laptops and computers can connect to wifi and have internet access.

All smart phones(Android & iOS) can connect to wifi but NO internet access.

Scratch head~

Starhub supplied a wireless gateway( Thomson Gateway) which i think is very lousy, and i checked the router settings for like wireless and DHCP settings.

All seems ok, might be the DNS problem, so gonna try that method first.
But it seems starhub guarded the DNS settings with their administrative username and password. Dumb and dumber

ha ha yeah i switched to M1 from starhub also and since then everything has been fine. speed is good and connection does not break.

sometimes we just want things to work without fiddling or calling up to complain.

Hey, just wanna check with you. Does masking the entire phone actually damage the Gmask or damage the slotting mechanism?

Any kind brothers out there who have their Padfone 2/Padfone 2 Station covered with a protective case? Thanks!

So far it's kinda tight. Till now no damage was done to the slotting mechanism. 3 days since gmasked
