So far, this Asus zf 2 not bad, beyond my expectations as a smart phone. And for the price I paid for, got nothing to say.

Other than those bloatwares, this phone is really good as a 2nd phone for overseas trips. Great price!

Still waiting on 6.0 update when Google has announced 7.0 today.

Been using marshmallow for 6 months... Not a big upgrade compared to lollipop except split screen on any apps

W8i4wOQh.jpg

Only issue is less than 1 day battery life but using a quick charge 2.0 charger, can get 70% in 1 hour so its a non issue

I'm talking about the official Asus Marshmallow update. Not some crap 3rd party buggy rubbish.

You know the kind where you buy a device and expect support from the manufacturer but you don't get it and end up doing all this **** yourself?

Wait till N officially release then start the counting lor. Announce is very different from actual release - and it's gonna be damn buggy at launch - as a Nexus user it's not all a bed of roses.

I'm not even talking about N. You do know that the Zenfone 2, Asus flagship model with 4GB of RAM - the world's first, is still running on 5.0 right?

Not 5.0.1, not 5.0.2, not 5.1, not 5.1.1, not 6.0, not 6.0.1.

buying a phone, you should stick to the default as most as possible, unless you have a specific problem that you want to fix with upgrade. And you must know the upgrade does fix it, without causing other issues. What is the reason behind?

Phones are sold with the software inside. the new software released later will be released with the later phones. you can upgrade, but not guaranteed to be free of issues. if you really want latest software, just get some latest phones.
If you are in software industry, you know new software doesn't mean just to fix issues, there are other stuff included inside, either rubbish, or some other agenda(kekek, slow it down to force u to buy a new one. the Fruit company does that well).

no phone is without issues. the world is full of issues. we tend to focus on what it cannot do, but ignore what it can do. enjoy what u have, and move on, if it bothers u every minute.
i use the Redmi 1 $150 phone till today, and i don't complain like you guys that much. not perfect, but i appreciate the savings it does to me and the work it can do same as $1000 phones. :)

1) Check if the SIM card is sitting properly in the SIM tray. I had the same issue with my Zenfone 2 and discovered that the SIM card is not properly in for whatever reason.

This can be remedied by a simple scotch tape to secure the SIM in instead of waiting for the useless Asus staff to evaluate their own device's flaws.

2) Do a full reset of your device including switching SIM cards and see if it is really a device hardware issue.

And please post in the Zenfone 5 thread next time.

I encountered the same problem. The locking mechanism in the sim card slot is faulty.

For its price, it is also good enough to be 1st phone. The main disappointment for me is that you can't select which SIM can have 4G and 2G like other brands. SIM1 is always 4G and SIM2 is always 2G which means you have to swap SIMs everytime you travel overseas in order to use local data. Major fail on this.

Dropped my zenfone 2 and screen cracked so where to get it replaced??

If I wasnt mistaken, it costs around $95 for screen replacement at asus service center, no harm calling them and ask. Those 3rd party repair shop charge $100 for it too

Actually, at beginning I also complained this being a failure. On second thought, it actually removes another worry actually. For your Singapore sim card, it's very often people forget to switch off data while roaming and needs to keep reminding ourselves to switch off data while enable normal calls, so you'll be contactable while overseas. The 2G slot is perfect cause you are assured data is not possible on this slot while beinv contactable.

Really depends on which perspective you look at it.

Well chaps. It's officially Q2 of 2016 and as I recalled, Asus promised something within this period. Let's see how long they take to fulfill that promise.

Don't android already have the function, disable data while roaming and default is always that way

I hope ASUS make the new phone smaller and lighter.
