Ya, happened quite often for mine.

noticed this for 2 days already.

was charging my phone and the battery was at 80%.. the next min, it jumped to 100%.

Anyone else encountered such issue?

NEED HELP: ASUS Zenfone 2 2GB_Message App and Whatapps Problem

Hi all,

Just purchased a Zenfone 2. Its Android Lollipop updated.

Issue 1: Used a SMS Restore software from old phone and transfered to Zenfone 2. Seems fine but after awhile, the Message app kept hanging and restart. Sometimes screen goes black and force stops itself. Normally, the sms screen have all previous conversations but then it goes back. Whenever trying to send sms, it says failed.

What the h is happening.

Issue 2: Backup Whatsapp conversations from old phone (Samsung Tab 4), but when restored on Zenfone 2, only a handful is restored. Previously all conversations on old Samsung S3 was updated to Tab 4 when I changed last year. Why now only a handful of chats appeared on Zenfone?

Anyway I used the g4 before that and changed to this. G4 battery drain is worse and even slower in terms of performance..

So zenfone 2 is pretty good for it's price already I would say.

I am still holding on to my 32gb set.

Hopeful that new update will make the battery better.

LG G4? Their flagship model with the leather back?

Saw it on zentalk but my phone is still at version V2.18.40.12_20150529 even after I tapped check for updates...

Rumored they removed it because you can unlock the bootloader with this version.

Just got my ZE551ML 4gb, 32gb version. Manufacturing batch is 06/15, working well, no drain on battery life. Lasted me a full day with occasional web browsing, playing games like line get rich & castle clash. So far so good.

OS Version number is 2.18.40, Battery Version is z2n3 01040003 1522.

By the way, i got spare tempered glass protectors, cause i didn't know my casing comes with them. Selling off at $6 with postage, or meet me at je/cck, i help you apply. Does not voer the front camera or proximity sensor. Mods please remove if it violates any rules. Thanks.

Sms software not compatible with lolipop. Try using the built in one (messaging > backup/restore)

Use whatsapp backup under chat settings, if it says internal, then copy whatsapp internal folder to internal of new phone

Me too. I realise if making calls, the phone keep swapping betwwen 3g & 4g networks, hence unable to call out. This problem only occurs when you set network to 2g/3g/4g. Works from on 2g/3g, 2g or 3g network mode.

I'm quite certain that this is a software problem. In 2g/3g/4g mode, the phone works fine in my camp where 4g coverage is unavailable most of the time.

The network needs to be fixed when making calls so as not to experience delay due to continuous handover/swapping of network.

Problem occurs on ze550ml and ze551ml 4gb/32gb version. Eliminated the cut microsim and faulty sim slot theory.

What I have tried:
1) Rebooting device
2) Changing sim card
3) Tried another same model device
4) Cleared device cache partition (See: http://www.asus.com/zentalk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=9229)
5) A friend's phone(ZE551ML with starhub sim card works, while the ZE550ML & ZE551ML that I have does not, and both are using M1. I will try to get a sim card of a different carrier and update here.
6) Called M1 for technical assistant. The guy said might be sim card problem, which I doubt so. He said he will reset my connectiong, and restart my phone and try to call again in 10 minutes, but issue still persists.

Temporary solution:
Use the other cellular modes except 2g/3g/4g if you need to make calls.

Update:
The phone is unable to call because it does not support volte (Voice Over LTE), hence it needs to switch to 3G to make calls but it goes into a network loop between 3g & 4g.

my set dun hv a problem with calling.

press the phone number
zenfone switches to 3g and makes the call within 7 seconds
hang up alr will switch back to 4g within 3 seconds

on starhub...
