Anybody having problem with the sim card slot?

Recent few days my Zenfone suddenly got this problem. It will suddenly tell me SIM not installed. Have to restart the phone. Connection will come back after restart but after awhile, it will tell me SIM card not installed again.

I am experiencing it once in a while after updating to the latest firmware.

Sianz.

Hi I am a current SingTel customer who can recontract this week. I would like to ask if the ASUS zenfone 2 is worth buying because I realised that not many other mid-ranger has the specs that are close to this phone. I would also like to ask if the Samsung galaxy a8 is a better choice even though it is 398 dollars on a combo 2 plan compared to the 198 dollars which is charged for the zenfone 2. I also am not sure if l should just port over to Starhub which has the zenfone selfie. my family has a cable television and fibre broadband subscription with starhub and another member of my family also owns an iPhone 6 64gb from starhub.

I suppose Samsung A8 has a prettier design, but spec-wise you know that Zenfone 2 is better and is cheaper. So from a performance standpoint, Zenfone 2 is a much better value, whereas design point, A8 wins.

As for Zenfone Selfie, that is a better phone for camera users and battery life is amazing thanks to the efficient apps management. Both front and rear cameras are awesome and shoots better than Zenfone 2. Here is my comparison of the 2 with detailed review links within.

Finally, it definitely makes sense to consolidate all your services with StarHub which offers hubbing rewards, but only if you bill all the services under one person.

it can't be when i first acquired the phone in july/aug. after a few updates (can't remember which one), it's now able to change the monitoring cycle. just tap the existing cycle (there is an inverted arrow indicating drop down menu). Choose "Change cycle..." which is the last item of the drop down menu. you'll be prompt to set the date of each month cycle.

Tap on the arrow. No option shown, only shows the date? Maybe running on different firmware? Thxs.

Sorry one more question. When you check for update firmware does it show a message that your firmware is up to date or just simply jump out of the menu without any message? Thxs.

if there is no new fw available, it will simply reflect the date/time you last check for system update.
if there is an update available, it will display a full screen of info asking if you like to download/install.

my current build number is LRX21V.WW-ASUS_Z00A-2.20.40.97_20150917_1572....

the least expected thing i discovered from your article is that zf2 appears to have a more vibrant screen than zfselfie. you probably didn't realize that since you make no mention in your review. i'm not sure if there is any problem with my set, it's acceptably bright only at max brightness, any thing less ... even at 90%, it becomes very dim.

pardon me but is there even a need to take the trouble to compare the photo quality of these two phones? i mean the phone is given a selfie label not for nothing. the write-up could be more informative if you'd compared it with Sony C5 Ultra n HTC Desire Eye. in the same light, without personally owning a zfselfie n zflaser, the zfselfie going to take forever to auto-focus a moving subject compare to the latter.

Official bootloader unlock for ZenFone 2 is now available

http://myzen.asus.com/2015/10/13/official-bootloader-unlock-for-zenfone-2-is-now-available/

http://www.androidheadlines.com/2015/10/asus-releases-bootloader-unlock-utility-zenfone-2.html
As for today’s big ZenFone 2 news, Asus has finally released its bootloader unlock tool officially, through a posting on its website. The tool is available as a free download from the company’s support forums, meaning, power users and DIY enthusiasts will be able to just download and install the file, without having to rely on unofficial hacks to unlock the bootloader. The installation of the utility however, will void the warranty, and comes with the standard disclaimer that the company cannot be held responsible for any problems arising out of using the software. The company also provides a fairly detailed set of instructions on how to proceed with the installation, which starts with updating the device at least to software version V2.20.40.59, before downloading and installing the application. Interested ZenFone 2 users can head over to the source link below to check out more details.

I bought this phone (Asus Zenfone 2 Asus_Z00AD) with a contract line. After using it for 3 months, I say it is crap. Now have to find a way to get rid of it.

Hi,

Anyone experiencing problem with charging Zenfone 2 ZE551ML?

I cannot seem to charge it with most of the chargers at home, including the stock charger that came with it. However i can charge it with the charger that came with a previous Nokia phone.

Anyone know what is the problem?

So much smoother with this mod. Less clunky and so much sleeker. Thanks to the folks at XDA.
